Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!
A great day to fly over Giga Texas as the weather was ideal and the lighting very good as well! A lot to see on the south end with concrete being poured on the roof of the middle of the three tunnels and more form work on the other two tunnels. The Bag House Plant and North Conduit installation and equipment structure were all coming along well today!
In the video introduction, I provide a 1-month comparison (between 5 July and 5 august 2024) of various sites around Giga Texas to help illustrate the progress and changes that have been made in just 1-month. This can be somewhat of a challenge to recognize how much is being done with nearly daily drone flights, but looking at a longer 1-month period, it is more evident just how much work has happened in such a short time.

A few highlights from today include:
The Boring Company crews are removing the road surface liners from inside the tunnel and stacking them on the south roadway where they were originally delivered. We see the front-end loader moving into the tunnel and brining out these liners. From the number of stacked liners, a significant length of the tunnel has had these removed. Why this is happening, I am not sure, and it is an interesting change worth monitoring to see what they do next.
The SE corner of the main building extension, near the cooling plant is getting graded, with the top at the base of the glass panels and at the top of the perimeter grade beam. Assuming this graded area sets the height around the south end of the building, we can see how the three south tunnels will be completely under the grade, with likely the top concrete roof forming the basis of a concrete walkway or driveway through this area.
The East side of the casting section of the main factory shows a new structure may be added in the area where the rebar and form work is being set up for a concrete apron. In fact, some of this looks to possibly be a foundation that spans two large receiving doors and the area where screw-type piers were previously installed. On the north end of the casting section, three large trailers with rental cooling units have been delivered. This might be a more powerful cooling system for the area around where the 9K ton Giga Presses are located.
