Would like to see one level deeper of detail on this product. What does a working FLARM page look like, what does a real waypoint/task page look like, etc. How does one enter a task? What does the AHRS display look like and what does it take to get that capability installed. I must say I've been quite confused over all the different S8, S80, S100 models and what is possibly with each one so this was really valuable to me. Thanks.

Looks like I commented too quickly as I just saw the next video in the series show up on YT. I'll definitely keep watching! Thank you.

@resiggy13, thanks for your comments. I have a bunch more videos in the queue that will cover the topics that you mention. (Except AHRS page, I don't have access to one of those at this point) AHRS installation is easy! It is just a software license, all the hardware is already built in to the vario box. All you'll need to do is install a firmware update after the AHRS license purchase. Quick table of differences: S8 -----> 57 mm === S80 ----> 80 mm Neither have a GPS and require external GPS - usually a Flarm device is used. Optional Bluetooth dongle for output to PDA/Nav display. Otherwise a wired RS-232 connection is available via an RJ port on the back. Both GPS and Flarm data are exported via this port S10 -----> 57 mm === S100 ----> 80 mm These have: - built in GPS and are IGC approved Flight Recorders - built in bluetooth - still has wired RJ port on back too - internal back-up battery to allow the unit to run for about 2 hours if all else fails!
