I went from the 1st Shield to the PC Shield. I now carry the PC Shield, 2.0. It is hands down the best shooting pistol I have!! It's the only EDC for me!! Glad you took another look! Nicely done!

Nice review! I think the PC Shields really are the gems in the line up & are certainly worth it if your budget permits them. I tend towards duty sized pistols for carry, but if your needs or environment dictate something smaller or more discrete, this is an excellent option, imo. 👍👍

Nice review as always! I had the 45acp version, since sold it. I performed well but not for me.

Got the exact same gun it has never failed to feed or fire. I use the federal HST 124gr, I believe those are the FBI rounds.

I'm a huge fan of S&W in general... I personally find only the FN Reflex to be more shootable than the Shield Plus.

I like this pistol but I can't stand that hinged trigger. I think if I could get a aftermarket one I'd definitely carry it

You absolutely can get aftermarket triggers for it.

Is it viable? Of course. Would I carry it? Yep; if I owned this and had no, or low, budget for firearms it's plenty good. Now, if I had this and an extra couple hundred $ burning a hole in my pocket? I'd go trade it in for credit towards a Shield Plus PC, and specifically the 4" optics ready version. The extra barrel length changed the entire gun for me, and I really don't feel the need for porting with how much nicer the balance is... almost like a full-width compact. Also like the reduced carbon buildup on my optic/slide lol but it's all relative. I've owned and tried nearly every modern striker gun out there, and it's still my favorite carry piece. S&W also just released a threaded barrel OR version with a fancier looking 3" slide, 3.7" barrel. Seems kinda pointless to create an updated variant without adding an accessory rail of some kind, but I get it... holster compatibility + more cool factor means (theoretically) more sales. But who in the hell bothers suppressing a Shield? Lol supp'd tilting barrels are bad enough to begin with.

I enjoyed reading your comment. Thank you. I would not suppress a Shield either.

You can pay extra to get a better quality paperweight. I won't buy another poor quality s&w again. 1 $900 p.o.💩 was enough.

@@MDpolo trigger, hammer and cylinder locked up after the 26th shot. Sent it in, they replaced everything except the frame and cylinder including the barrel leaving a 5mm long splinter in the frame where the barrel joins.
