Well, Craigleith, here’s a close up view of the chub/shiner/minnow and what I attempt to do with it as Alfred has put in a few segments.
Fish love the chub tail and the size of it will dictate what you might catch. I lost a small Brook trout because the tail was too large so when it got close to being netted, it was able to spit the tail out.
Now I was hoping to catch that huge trout which made a very quick appearance and I think the tail size was perfect. Can’t believe that at 77 I haven’t learned to be a bit more patient but I could see where the bait was, knew approximately where the big fish was, and gave the smallest of tugs….seconds too early and off it went.
Alfred put a video out before the season had opened, about this hole. It’s a 1:56 segment and he even put a red arrow to show the size of the fish as it disappeared stage left! Well I’m sure that was the same fish as it was in the 28-30” category, fish already caught this year from this hole and videoed.
I’ll return for sure as the number of bait fish is decreasing quickly to very large hungry browns, making our offerings all the more palatable. At least that’s the thought.
Thanks Alfred for the video. And interesting when you walk the same paths how lost items are usually found!
Love your ‘still’ as it is a beauty!
Cheers to you Craigleith and
Cheers to all
Thanks for viewing.
