These episodes straight Breathe life into my week. I love seeing black men knowledgeable, secure in themselves to say "I love you" to each other, love their wives and are men of God. More young people need to see examples like this.

Kaep lost his whole career behind standing for social injustices, and continued giving back to the community. I don’t know if what Lebron did can be compared bro.

If Kap had bron talent, he would still be playing
@ZoY33
4 жыл бұрын
@@jarondavis9795 the discussion isn’t about one’s talent, it’s about the sacrifices and social impact. Can we say Lebron didn’t face any backlash like Kaep did because of his talent? Maybe, but no other NBA player did either and several of them participated in protests. Lebron used his money to start a school, which by the way isn’t 100% funded by him, but Kaep sacrificed his career to start a movement and put action behind it outside of football. I’m not really a fan of either athlete’s play so I can care less about who was better at their sport, I’m just saying Kaep’s sacrifice and Lebron’s sacrifice are not the same.
@jarondavis9795

@@ZoY33 yeah I agree with you fam..I'm just pointing out that Kap still wanted to play and was black balled of course, but if he was dominating on the field at the time he STILL would have been under scrutiny, but would have had a job. That's all I was saying. So the talent piece was relevant.

First and foremost. Congratulations Jemal on your book!!! That’s dope. The past few episodes have been life changing and this episode hit home for me yet again. I’ve been in my feelings about people reactions to my cookie prices. I know deep down inside my cookies are fire and I’ve been told my cookie are out of this world ( that’s why I decided to sell them). Especially knowing that I’m cheaper than most top of the line cookie sellers. Y’all made things clear on what I need to do. I also want to shout out Karl! I started listening to this podcast a couple years ago for ET but Karl is the one that has the most impact on my life. I relate to him and seeing his growth is inspiring. Love y’all and keep making a positive impact on the world.

Colin is great n all, but he'd be more relevant if he was more vocal that one year he was in the superbowl, not when he was a bench player and on his way to being cut. He did sacrifice his career, but lets be honest, he wasn't a starter by the time he became more vocal. Bron is the best NBA player of his gen. but he's been on the forefront since before his Miami days. Don't get me wrong, we need both of them. Kinda like Malcolm n MLK coexisted. Ultimate goal is the same.

It really is about being brutally honest to know your current worth, good or bad, and making the adjustments to yourself. I will no longer accept people treating me like dirt like I don’t matter like I’m not valuable. I highly value myself now and I will not accept anything less. I’m just as valuable as anyone else. I just listened to episode 105 for the first time and it took some anxiety away. To know Jemal was attending all the conferences ETA were offering in 2018 and he had been a millionaire for almost 20 years already let me know its OK to want and need this energy of legacy builders when you can get it, especially when your normal circle just don't think like you do. I will be looking forward to the world opening up so I can get some of that energy in person.

You can definitely add LeBron to the same company as Ali as far as giving back. Does ring take anything away from what Ali did. Ali did what he had to do for bettering its community then LeBron is doing it now. What’s sad is that in both generations the same things are being fought for. Equality, police brutality, poor education etc
