A first day on your third (?) Atlantic crossing, so very much worth waiting for--and for only a little while at that. Alan, you're good at this. You have a few refined sensibilities, vision and skills. You didn't just evolve to this point though, you invented, recorded, edited and produced it. Congratulations!! This journey is coming together so well. As a sailor I'm so inspired! and that shouldn't be last on my little list of accolades.

I really liked the story about freedom and independence. The American actor Mr. Humphrey Bogart, who was also a navigator, would say before he died in 1957 that there is ONLY ONE FREE PLACE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND THAT IS IN THE OCEAN. 🌊🌊⛵

Deep thoughts brother. It struck a chord with me. You reminded me of a recent conversation I had with a full-time live-aboard in Port Browning, British Columbia. I made the mistake of asking what he was running away from. He very politely corrected me and said he was not running "away" but running "towards" something. That something is "freedom". Offshore is the freest place left on the planet. Once you own and live on land you are much more subject to the governing authorities. After I closed my mouth, opened my mind and let him share more in depth, I began to see a whole new perspective on the benefits of sailing full-time. My wife, on the other hand, is not interested in living on a sailboat. It's not for everybody, I get it. But once a year, I plan to continue heading out on long coastal voyages and relishing God's many blessings on my life. I do have a question for you. Maybe you could share in a future video about the differences (pros and cons) you now notice between the Contessa 26 and Wave Rover? Just a thought.

I am delighted with your videos of this journey across the Atlantic, especially since you are undertaking it in a 21-foot sailboat. It serves as motivation for me because I have the same plan for the future. A few months ago, I bought two sailboat plans, one of them 12 feet in length and the other larger at 22 feet. The idea is to build the smaller one first as it is simpler since all its parts come in a CAD file for printing or cutting, although I will manually transfer them to plywood. The larger one requires more advanced knowledge of boat building but is also constructed from plywood and has enough space for long voyages and living on it, although a very minimalist life. I will joyfully continue to follow your adventure across the Atlantic.

A long-awaited video of the WR-II from the Atlantic Ocean itself. Good pictures, also from the cabin, which looks like you expect a visit from Mrs Rover at any time, so tidy it is. • Do you read books along the way Alan? • Have you divided your days and nights into "shifts"? • Have you established any daily routines? • Do you sleep through the night, or is it adapted to the wind and weather, as well as the shipping traffic in the area? • Were the drawings of the WR-II brought up to date with all your adjustments and improvements? • So many questions for such an exciting topic.

Your heart felt talk on the quest for freedom was touching. This new corporate society, this corporate New World Order, has become a dangerous thing for the right of freedom and sometimes I feel that the only survivors of this tyranny will be the people that strive to maintain this freedom or at least to maintain the hope to keep freedom alive. The fact that you don't have to register a boat without an engine to the corporate state overlords is another way to escape the tyranny of these corporate governing states. I too yearn to have a boat like yours to forge an adventure of more freedom, lol ... , Thanks, nice to see you underway.

A floating line dragged behind the boat maybe with small fenders attached to it and if you pull hard on it, it rip a small line and drop a sea anchor from a bag automatically. Relying on AIS alone is risky for collision avoidance. I am very surprised you don't have radar with collision alarm set on an Atlantic crossing. Not all vessels have functional AIS, or choose to turn it off. If you are sleeping you would have no warning of a vessel on a collision course with a faulty AIS, or floating cargo containers or other large flotsam. Also pirates could be an issue. Although with pirates you would not be able to get away on a sailboat even if you did detect them with radar. With lawful vessels you would have to hope that even if they are not transmitting AIS that they can detect your AIS, or radar signature, and avoid you, as per rules of the road MV vs SV.

Do you have a battery bank or a small gas generator? What about knockdowns ----is your boat Self Righting? What is the total displacement 16,000 pounds or lighter.....at 21 feet does she bob or slice through the waves. I always heard....the shorter the boat the rougher the ride in the open seas. Also the deck of that boat is curved with zero safety lines -------how do you walk out there to repair your mast, if needed?
