This week we continue driving up the costas in Spain.
Our first visit after Aguilas was the lovely town of Javea (Xabia). We have stayed here previously, but as I had hurt my ankle last time we had not managed to do some earmarked walks. So we returned and managed to get them in. We went up the headland to the lighthouse at the top which gave way to some great views. We continued along the top of the headland heading towards the windmills that you can see from the town below. We then walked back down the hill into the town. We had another fabulous stay here. The campsite, camping Javea, is good with a lovely pool. We were very fortunate to get into the campsite as it was a Spanish bank holiday (and yes we hadn't realised) so the place was rammed for the first night. Once the bank holiday was over the campsite became much quieter. We also hadn't realised when we left that Javea was having one of their festivals so the Mercadona and other shops etc were shut. We really need to get better at checking for these things, a note to ourselves going forward!
We headed inland from Javea and was hoping to stop at Navajas but when we arrived they were full. So we continued up to Albarracin - this place had been recommended by another motorhomer last time we were in Javea. What a find this place was and we were so glad that Navajas had been full so we stayed here. It is a lovely, lovely town and a must place to visit if you are traveling this way.
Hope you enjoy the video as we continue motor homing in Spain with our two dogs.
