This was probably my least favorite panel at AX out of the ten or so I attended. The concept was okay but executed very badly; panels are meant to be a place of information and communication between fans and panel runners- this panel did make people aware of the old 80's concept for Sailor Moon but everything the host said was repetitive and seemed more concentrated on making bad jokes than making the panel something of substance; the last 20 minutes were nothing but Michael Bay jokes disguised as "what if" concepts with no basis for any of it; this subject could have opened up a lot of discussion on Americanizing Japanese media or other examples of how original Japanese TV/Show and movie franchises are remade for foreign countries with little to no trace of its original concept but instead it was about 70% bad jokes, 10% stalling to fill up the full hour allotted to each panel, 10% of actual information, and 10% insulting the entirety of the Sailor Moon franchise which is the fanbase your audience is comprised of.

Thanks for your honesty. Sadly, I've done informative panels before and tried to interact with the audience. Most of the time, I get around at least one or two responses. Other than that, there was awkward silence. I had the technical aspects about the 'Saban Moon' production including how some Sailor Moon fans were able to obtain the lost artwork during an auction, the original DIC trailer where 'Usagi' was named 'Victoria', or about the rumored lost pilot still out in the wild. Sadly, as I learned before, not many attendees appreciate the technical stuff. If you prefer, I can rework this panel to include this piece of info. As for the Michael Bay joke, I still stand by it! Keyword: Megan Fox Sailor Moon Yeah....it's still a terrifying possibility...
