The bodies of the soldiers who died up there are still there, frozen in eternity and will remain forever. So sad 😢 Sabaton are masters in storytelling.

It is certainly a song about those who never came home. More specifically, this song is about the events of White Friday (which really happened on a Wednesday), which details a series of avalanches that occurred in several areas of the Italian Front of World War 1, killing several hundred Italians and Austro-Hungarians in the process (though not confirmed 100%, it would seem that along with favorable conditions, the avalanches where caused by both sides trying to shell the mountains above the enemy, in the hopes of burying them alive). The Italian front, while often overlooked by many was certainly a very difficult area for the Italians and Austro-Hungarians to fight in (fighting in the Alps and Dolomites, close to the heavens), and many of the bodies from both sides are still there to this day, forever keeping their watch. If you are perhaps interested in learning a bit more details about it in your off time, Sabaton's history channel (which is awesome in and off itself) recently released a video detailing the events in the song kzitem.info/news/bejne/tpBqqX5vn197eJg. Oh and one last thing, you are correct that Sabaton usually does not do Ballad type songs, although they do have some that you may be interested in checking out I think (most notably, the Ballad of Bull is quite the good one)!

This song is about the soldiers who died in battle on Mountain Marmolada on December 13, 1916. On that day Austro-Hungarian and Italian troops died because of Avalanches that were caused by both armies shooting shells into patches of snow high up on the mountain causing multiple Avalanches. Those Avalanches caused up to 10,000 casualties that day. That is what Sabaton's song Soldier of Heaven is about. I have really been listening to this song a lot because it s a really awesome song. In the last couple of days Tommy Johansson let everyone know that he will be leaving Sabaton in the near future to focus on stuff he has put on the back burner for the last 7 years. I will say that I will definitely miss Tommy being apart of Sabaton but I also look forward to seeing what he does on his own. I am just glad I got to see him live with Sabaton in September of 2022 when they came to my city for the Tour to End All Tours.

The guitarist Tommy Johansson actually has a beautiful voice and has his own band. I recommend checking out his youtube channel, he caught me off guard in a great way. He's actually covered a couple of Sabaton songs sung as if they were Disney songs, 100% worth a watch.

Tauri! Here you have the song Sabaton released today 8/2: The Ballad Of Bull (Official Lyric Video) kzitem.info/news/bejne/wpV_0mqkpJF0lIY A movie has been made about this man Bull. Little history; Leslie “Bull” Allen was an Australian stretcher bearer who served in the Pacific, and his actions on Mount Tambu in New Guinea is something quite extraordinary. During one day at the front he ran straight into enemy fire alone, time after time to pick up wounded American soldiers. 12 times he went up the hill, and 12 times he came down with a wounded allied soldier on his shoulder. For this selfless act he was awarded with the US Silver star.

this mainly is about the 1916 event called White Friday (but really took place on a Wednesday) were several avalanches buried soldiers and civilians on both sides and many of the bodies are still their on the MT. you should Deff watch the Sabaton History eps. on the song - kzitem.info/news/bejne/tpBqqX5vn197eJg , i read somewhere that early on in the fighting a Austro-Hungarian soldier shot a Italian soldier while he was climbing and as he fell took 2 others with him down the cliff , after that the Austro-Hungarian taunted them with shouts of "Welcome to Heaven"

They have at least one ballad type song, called The Ballad of Bull. It's about an Australian stretcher bearer who carried 12 wounded Americans to safety one by one in the pacific theater of WW2.

White Friday, like many songs Sabaton makes, is very tragic. Many soldiers lost their lives in an avalanche (or several) over a few days in WW1 I believe Those soldiers are still there as far as I know frozen in time

I love your review of this song! You don't just analyze the music like so many do but you go to the heart of the message. Okay, I have a request, and this is probably the wrong way to do it but here goes. I'm a Lord of the Rings fan and Annie Lennox sings a song called "Into the West" during the credits of The Return of the King and nobody has ever reviewed it. No, it's not Metal or rock but if anyone can do it justice you could. The back story of the song is there was a young man who worked on the set of Lord of the Rings and he died of cancer. Annie wrote the song and dedicated it to him, it will break your heart but it is so beautiful. Please do this. Here is the link, kzitem.info/news/bejne/14iJuXuGsoGdq4I

The biggest mistake reactors make is they DON'T research the song before listening to it. With Sabaton the meaning or history of the subject makes the song 10 times better when you know what it is about.
