I mean he was shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear; was blinded in his left eye; survived two plane crashes; tunnelled out of a prisoner-of-war camp, and tore off his own fingers when a doctor declined to amputate them. So we basically was just a video game character 😆

He retired as a Lt General and one of Winston Churchill's most trusted generals. He was actually at the meeting with Churchill, Stalin and Roosevelt. After WW1, he wrote "Frankly, I enjoyed the war." During WW1 he was wounded 8 times, when a doctor refused to amputate his fingers, he bit them off. When his eye was shot, he bought a cheap eye lap to continue leading his men. But he was not stupid! He is in my opinion one of the greatest untalked about generals of the second world war. He somehow reached the age of 83 after having survived (I could be wrong here) 16 battle injuries and a plane crash.

Officer, later lieutenant colonel Adrian Carton de Wiart was born into a aristocratic family in brussel, Belgian father and irish mother, however some believed and his contemporaries believed he was actually the bastard son of the Belgian king at that time Leopold II. At age 6 his irish mother died, being sent to a english boarding school by his brittish stepmother. As we see in the start of the video He studied law in oxford but to his fathers dismay he hated studying and decided to fight in the second boer war. Later both world wars. Until he retired at age 66 from the brittish army later dying at age 83 peachfully around his family having married a countess too at age 28. He recieved 10 medals from different countries, mostly britain in his life for many of the heroic deeds he did and for getting injured so much yet fighting on. He recieved over 9 lethal injuries during WW1, his most lethal ones is shot in the eye, shot through the skull, he also tore off his own fingers when a doctor refused to amputate them, he had his hand amputated and was shot through the stomach. Surviving 2 plane crashes and living through a POW camp of the germans. Despite all this he said he enjoyed the war. Always woke up and immediately went into action. Fighting all the way from somaliland to france belgium poland and africa. In the singer Joakim Broden’s own words ”Adrian Carton de Wiart was belgian-born and was fighting for the brittish in world war 1 and 2 but had also fought earlier in the boer war and further back. He was like a comic book character, this over-the-top super-soldier who just refused to die dozens of times miraculoulsly coming back to life no matter what the eny threw at him. He’s one of the craziest people i’ve read about, so we decided to do something different for him. It’s a playful song, somehow.
