What a great moment with Neely, Miller, and Taz discussing strategy after Wesley went down.

Derek Sanderson said a lot of dumb things in his career, but when he said, "Clark Gillies isn't going to do anything offensively, but Byers has the potential to do a lot," I just about fell out of my chair. Gillies is a 6 time 30 goal scorer. Gillies scored more goals in a single season than Byers had in his entire career.

This was the last season that the NHL allowed the benches to be opposite sides of the rink. The next year the Bruins bench was moved to the near side and the penalty boxes remained where they were between the red and blue lines. Miss having stadiums with unique characteristics like the Garden had.

Bruce Shoebottom has the best stat for the playoffs. I think he played in like 9 games and had 11 majors or something. The following year he fought Kevin Maguire in every game in the series.

"Marginal NHL'er", He won the Memorial Cup in 1965/66, and the Scoring title, he won the Calder trophy the next year in Boston, he won the Stanley Cup twice in Boston, in his first 6 yrs. with Boston he was arguably the best Defensive forward, and face-off man in the NHL. He then became the Highest paid athlete in Sports in 1972, being the First Million Dollar Hockey player. Alcohol, and Drugs started getting the better of him, and his career suffered, he finished with 598 Gms. played, and 452 Pts. over 10 seasons. OH YEAH, He also was the player who passed Bobby Orr the Stanley Cup winning goal in 1970 the Most famous goal in Hockey history, If not for substance abuse he would be in the HOF. Any knowledgeable Hockey person would tell you that Derek Sanderson was a Great Hockey player, YOU SOUND LIKE A FOOL.

Cuz' "the Homer" announcer was a better Hockey player than Gillies, who many think shouldn't be in the HOF, Cuz if HE'S in the HOF there are plenty of other guys that should be in also.
