On Tuesday 10th January we once again visited the Grove and Rufford Hunt along with the great Calder Valley Hunt Saboteurs, Peak District Hunt Sabs and West Yorkshire Hunt Saboteurs. After unboxing at the Village Hall, on land owned by North and South Wheatley Parish Council, the hunt met (rather aptly) in a field next to a sewage works. Which is owned by John and Deirdre Miles; keen local hunt supporters and property developers, who spent Tuesday watching foxes being chased.
Not content with slashing our tyres on three separate occasions already this season The Grove have now resorted to assaulting sabs and stealing cameras in an attempt to continue hunting foxes. Most of the hunting took place on land owned by Ralph Foljambe and the Sturton Estate, though the first fox was chased from a wood owned by John Miles.
This time it was hunt kennelman Tom Hopson who lost his temper twice when sabs disrupted the hunt close to a kill. On the second occasion, hounds and terriermen were seen around a badger sett on land owned by the Blades of Caddow Wood F
arm, the presence of sabs caused Hopson to push sabs into ditches and steal a camera.
If this wasn't bad enough the hunt then continued to hunt a fox along a railway line minutes before a train passed showing huntsman Ben Higgins' clear disregard for the hounds.
