Wow! Sadao Watanabe is simply beautiful! His phrasing is so elegant. The pianist reminds me of Bill Evans...very melodic with lots of gorgeous changes. This is a very enjoyable and moving tune.
Sadao san...GOAT...and this quartet is just chemistry, wordless, life time.

This is a beautiful rendition by Sadao. I had the opportunity to hear him live in Chicago years ago, and it was great. My friend James Williams on piano is laying down some wonderful harmonies as usual. He left us way to soon.

Great Sadao & the pianist's (James?)! Wonderful balance and beautiful harmonization. ナベサダ節を聴かなきゃ始まりません。何という表現力・・・ピアノもいいですねえ。

Love the laid-back bits. The amount of soul in it is just bad ass.

BASICALLY, IT'S MODERN PROGRESSIVE JAZZ, PERHAPS,ORIGINATING IN THE LATE 1940S AND EARLY 1950S, ESPECIALLY WITH SUCH GREAT MUSICIANS AS CHARLIE PARKER, FROM WHOM THE SAXOPHONIST SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN GREATLY INFLUENCED, AND THELONIOUS MONK, THE SAXOPHONIST ALAN RICHARD MASSIE, JOHN COLTRANE, ETC.
