I have the cosmair version and i love the depth and complexity of safari. I am finding that my favorite timeframe in the fragrence world is mid 80s to early 90s. This along with vintage ysl jazz in the half white half black piano key bottle and vintage guerlain heritage edt are some of my favorite fragrences of all time. I just love this scent profile and the depth and complexity are unreal in these type of scents. They would never release this to the market today place today as a new release. :) maybe roja dove would but he would try and charge you 500 bucks instead of the 20 dollar steal i got on ebay for the cosmair version half full bottle of the 125 ml. -Ramsey

Intoxicating scent. I purchased a Cosmair produced bottle but it's not a huge projector, which is fine. It's does require at least 4 sprays. One of my favs and I don't see how anyone would dislike this fragrance. I also think it's pretty versatile. This is a love for me.

I have recently compared the vintage version and the current formulation side by side. The vintage version has real oakmoss, which makes it smell a lot better and last longer. The oakmoss makes a huge difference IMO. Like you, I would rate the current version about a 6.5. I love the vintage and I would rate it a 9 at the very least!

Hey Kellan, when are you going to review the original Old Spice? That was so many guys' first fragrance. The first compliment I ever got from a fragrance came when I was 17 and slapped some of my Dad's Old Spice aftershave onto my neck. I bought a bottle recently and... it was not as good as I remember, but it's still something special. I would also suggest Stetson Sierra from 1993, a smoother take on Polo Green. Cheers, my friend.

Maybe sounds weird but for me Safari is synonym of business. As time goes by this old school boy turns into a more exclusive fragrance. After two decades I still use it in comfortable formal/business places. For general purposes I uses Issey Miyake in spring and summer, and some Montblanc (Legend or Emblem) in autumn and winter. After sports I use Polo Sport (of course :) ). For nights I prefers Armani Code or Safari. Overcoming the pandemic Ill try Armaf Club de Nuit Intense before Creed Aventus (if the Armaf works). Creed Aventus is another level of price and if I enter in then ill try a Tom Ford. However at the end of the day or at the end of my life, please put a bottle of Safari in my coffin and seal it for eternity. Your perfect fragrance is the one made of incredible notes and incredible memories.

I absolutely agree about the "business" scent. For me it's a scent for men in their 50s with success behind their name. I have no doubt whatsoever that the perfumer's brief was to create a scent for aforesaid man, and fit for any occasion - ie this would be a "1 scent for life"/signature. It doesn't need to stand out, simply be a quality composition and quality ingredients. Very middle of the road, but from the top shelf. It's a scent that doesn't need to shout to make its presence, it simply announces itself and people take note. To wit: I was a child I'd spend the afternoons after school playing with the children next door. Their father had a bottle of RL Safari and whenever he was around this scent lingered. It's only now, 20+ years later when I have my own bottle that I'm immediately reminded of him. It turns out he own gold mines in South Africa - at the time I still vividly remember they have over a dozen permanent house staff to take care of every beck and call.

My wallet wants me to stop watching ur videos. Gonna review some stuff I got from your recommendation right here👇🏼 1. Sung Homme: -------------- Probably my best discovery of the decade so far. It’s the cheapest 100ml in my collection and the best performing by far. My go-to work scent now. I work long hours finishing cement outdoors in the Canadian winter and this stuff still lasts longer than I can possibly wear it. My longest test it lasted 14 hours in -16 degree weather and it was still projecting at the end. Scent is also fantastic. ⚡️9.5/10 for me 2. Jaguar for men: -------------- As soon as I smelled this I got flashbacks to walking past random guys in my grandparents Italian neighbourhood in Toronto in the late 90’s - early 2000’s. If I can recognize it from that long ago it’s pretty standout. It’s extremely green. It’s like a vegetable injected with testosterone. It’s a little intense up close, but from a distance I love it. 2 sprays gets me solid 9 hours at work. Room filler for the first few hours 💪🏽 ⚡️7.5/10 for me I heard good things about jaguar pace too, but I think it’s a generic shower gel type scent. Apparently Bentley has the best car brand fragrances out there. 3. Trussardi Uomo: -------------- Absolutely perfect scent. I get a sort of fizzy, spicy allure homme sport vibe with that perfect clean leather base 👌🏽 I can cover myself in this stuff and it’ll still only last 5-6 hours. I would easily pay double the $ for a parfum concentration version of this to get 8+ hours out of it. ⚡️8/10 for me 4. Kuros (Milton Lloyd clone): -------------- This is about as manly as you can get a fragrance without making it aggressive. I have a type of incense that smells similar to this when it’s burnt and I’ve always thought it would work great as a cologne. This is the best scent to have traces of it left inside your jackets. I’ve only tested it once at work so far and I’m not sure exactly how much to spray cuz it’s aerosol, but it seemed to last the whole day pretty solidly ⚡️8/10 for me I would get more Milton and Lloyd clones since they’re so cheap, but they don’t sell to Canada :’(

Hello... I love the smell of Ysl Jazz(1988), but unfortunately this fougere pearl is no longer produced... And I'm looking for something very similar... @shave-a-thon3415
3 жыл бұрын
I'm not yet 100% certain for current Ralph Lauren releases, but the last alphanumeric number on the last line of the ingredients on the boxes may be the formula code for the batch. Other houses have a "Ref" that precede it and it's sometimes on the bottom flap with the batch code.. For Armani, it's the number that is on the first line of the ingredients before the first ingredient. I bought a gift set of Safari in either Abraham & Straus or Macy's back in 1992 (4.2 oz. edt and 4.2 oz. aftershave) and have barely used either bottle. I only use them for special occasions, and considering I'm getting on in years, those special occasions may have to come more often! Take a look. Note the Cosmair label and the copyright of 1991: imgur.com/a/sDu8t I would place this in the same ballpark with Chanel Pour Monsieur and Paul Sebastian in that they're classy fragrances that really smell right when wearing a sports jacket or suit. How much did you pay for the Cosmair version of the aftershave? I think the gift set of both bottles back in 1992 was about $45 but in those days, if you bought on Father's Day or the year end holidays in the dept. stores, there was a gift thrown in (like a mini bottle gift set from the house, or in the case of Paul Sebastian, a watch), and the always sexy fragrance dept. salesgirl would load me up with free sample vials.
