Every time we get to see her Fang is always surrounded by the wee little ellies, carefully shepherding them though the herd. I feel so lucky to have been able to observe her over the years. A true matriarch and a good "nannah" too :))

So so many babies and youngsters! It is a prove they feel very, very safe as they are breeding....during biggest slaughter and poaching times some herds had no babies for years! They stopped breeding! Thank you Chitwa Chitwa Reserve for their protection....maybe one day will come and visit!....Beautiful videos....beautiful place...

I saw Fang and her herd on a OBS vudei of the elephant that came to breakdast. Brett missed Fang when the herd was walking into the watering hole and again when she walked in front of the vehicle. Oops! I’ve seen this video many times and always noticed the presence of Fang! I guess when there’s a large herd of elephants you can miss one or two. Does anyone know if Fang and Wonky Tusk is the same elephant? Wonky Tusk is what they call the elephant that walks through the hotel for the fruit in the back of the building. They look like one in the same elephant.

They have the same deform tusk. But the wonky herd is much smaller than Fang herd, fang has 40s something. And wonky I guess only 10s or maybe less

I noticed Fang when they first came in, then she walked right in front of the vehicle. Oops, you missed her. Go back and you will see Fang walking into the watering hole. Fang is just too cool. Question? Is Fang the same Ellie that is referred to by the hotel as Wonky tusk? Sure looks like Fang!

Hiya - from other programs on tv etc it looked like she was in season. Perhaps that's why the bulls were interested. On another tv programme the bulls would follow amd and chase. Also when there was a mating the herd members would trumpet loudly and be excited. The female photographer said that they could hear the elephants very excited in the trees. So I'm hoping that is what happened. Comforting myself with that thought!

I wish they feed the baby or let it suc Kel. Its very hungry. They let the bigger 1 suckleHOW unfair is that. The little baby is mimicking the adult elephants. Digging its feet in the dirt. Also, I do hear the talking amongst them. Its nice 2 watch them play n the water. Hippo knows 2 stay away.

who is this guy and what is he talking about...someone asks if Fang is in this herd and he says, "No, this is not Fang's herd"...but Fang can clearly be seen, with her distinctive tusks, at 0.56...then someone else asks if elephants can get sunburned, he says, "No, they can't, their skin is too dark and leathery", but it is widely known that elephants use mud as a sunblock because they do sunburn!
