It's a good bit of trouble, but i rotate my trays every 5 minutes, and I find that everything in the dehydrator dries equally, and perfectly.

Why don’t you harvest these traditionally??? I don’t understand. I live in VT and grow saffron. However, I remove the stigmas carefully and reharvest from the same bulb many times per growing season, as opposed to literally collecting 2 hairs of saffron per flower. I understand that in Egypt and India they do harvest the entire flower, and then separate afterwards, but that’s to save the time of having to bend down to each bulb one at a time as they have industrialized the process. You guys are taking all that time and effort to bend down to each flower, but then just pulling the entire thing from the ground. It just doesn’t seem like a cost effective way to grow or produce saffron nor does it seem particularly sustainable. I’m a new saffron grower who uses the spice in most of my cooking now. You may know something I do not. I’m not trying to be presumptuous, I’m just genuinely confused

Are you saying you cut the stigma out individually and allow it to regrow? Wasn’t aware you could do that. Thanks in advance

@@whydoineedahandle269 I think he means he pulls the hair individually from each flower leaving it whole to regrow. I'm new to this and curious as well.
