It's fall on Sage Mountain which means the bears are moving and feeding, getting ready for another winter of hibernation. Today we saw the same momma bear we've seen before on our trail cameras, only this time they came right up to our driveway to feed on apples which are thick with fruit this year. Remember to be bear aware in Vermont. This year has seen more human bear conflicts than in any other recent year in Vermont, as the state's bear population grows and spreads into more human inhabited areas. Please always keep your garbage in a bear proof container and if you have apple trees, leave some for the bears and other wildlife!
