Starting by showing us those beautiful sailing vessels, proof that men can design, build and enjoy a machine with a soul of its own that doesn't have to destroy nature but help him develop a need to protect and be part of it, is grand. Then teaching us how to sail without auto-pilot with no need to set the wind vane or to fill obliged to do the dishes because the admiral is at the tiller just by using a bungee cord, is smart and valuable. But men achieve greatness when it serves others, especially those that for a thousand different reasons seem to us, in need and special. And that is the way you end this video. That is also commendable. Muito obrigado.

The taxi run was a nice way to end the video! If you are wondering about the French flags on the Fife designs, they have quite a following in France and there are some highly skilled master carpenters looking after them. I always admire these boats and the commitment needed to keep them sailing. When you speak to these guys, they are passionate! Sailing, cos they love it 😉

Hi JT, it’s ok really if you like a wheel but I just prefer a tiller. It’s best on a reach, can be tiresome downwind where a tiller wins out. Ok motoring in the rain in rivers etc feels just like a mo-boat then. I just prefer to let the self steering get on with it and chill or attend to other duties. We have about two inches of play at the wheel itself and if I was to remove that then it would probably be loads better than it is at present. Regards mike

Enjoyed it as usual, I also use a bungee from side to side with some twists around the tiller for adjusting, 👌thanks for sharing 👍

@@sailingcosiloveit I’ve only been out by myself twice & after buying the boat last year, I couldn’t afford a wind vane. Hi Craig Barry for skipper oh how we laughed. Cord needs to be thicker the more weather helm there is. One size cord should be enough you just move it up or down the tiller to adjust the load. Regards mike
