I think the rolling shutter you mention is my zoom combined with the premiere pro warp stabilizer. I just got a brand new tripod that should solve the problem 👌🏻

While sailing out of Washington State USA a Sub surfaced about 100 yards away on my watch! Made our 83 foot Ketch look like a Row Boat. Frightening seeing it surface! Later 90 miles offshore turning south I saw an extremely bright white Light pass underneath us at our stern at what seemed about 10 Knots! Have no idea what it was. Subs if it were don't sail with any light!

Oh Wahoo, that would be crazy scary... crazy thing about the light too 😱 an 83 foot Ketch is no small boat.... were the two incidents on the same passage? /Sophie

Ryan & Sophie Sailing Yes the Sub in the Straits of Juan De Fuca. The Sub left us behind early evening. We went 90 miles offshore to stay out of shipping lanes. It was 10 or so in the evening the light passed under the boat. Very bright! We were under sail with Generator off all quiet. A ran down into the engine room to listen for prop noise and heard nothing but whales in the distance! Put my ear to the hull and still heard nothing.

noticed the picture of the Pacific beach on the officers cabin wall,, i wonder if that is one of the islands which are so heavily polluted by nuclear waste from among others the french navy / nuclear programme that it is dangerous for people to be there and has caused tremendous damage to the marine environment and its wild life,, i wonder even if the submarine you toured was responsible for some of that,,, i think i remember you mention possible pacific travels yourself , do take care ,,,,, as always, enjoyed your video , ta R

Very good videos you are producing. Very well edited. I use to teach video editing and yours are better than most on You Tube with a rye sense of humor. BTW. Add speedy to your list. I was reading about around the world records when I read that the fastest nuclear submarine could do it in about 60 days, about the same as the powerboat record and faster than the sailing monohull record at 74 days. But not as fast as a sailing catamaran at 50 or trimaran at 40! I'm starting my spidermaran build tomorrow.

I hear Bay of Biscay can be rough , take care. Starboard Green Light .Until it's fixed Instead of waking each other up each time it blinks out can you get a portable , battery operated light that attaches to a stay or something . This way you can stay put in the cockpit and get needed sleep while off watch . Just trying to take care of my two favorite sailors .
