OMG! No one and I mean no one say anything about the showing scene. Very very tastefully done by the way. Is bad to mention that your wife is gorgeous and that you are a very very lucky man in many ways. Appreciate that woman. She's a keeper!

So, I'm binge watching the beginning of your journey (I 'met' you folks only a few months ago!) and what happened with the replacement Selden boom? I know that you fitting it, re-loading the sail, etc... was no issue, but: how long did it take to get a replacement? How much for that piece of equipment? Did you need to replace your gooseneck fitting? Did you install fixed reef hooks to lock down installed reef points on you mast? I'm just dying to know what kind of issues, timing, good results occurred with such a surprise (thankfully, close to your destination at the time!)

Only found your blog and KZitem channel yesterday but have already watched all the videos from the first till episode 13. What caught my eye was episode 3 (the first??) because of "Discovering Portuguese Ports". My parents are Portuguese and I was in Portugal this past June/July. Your video of Porto, I was there too, brought back good memories. I also visited Sintra, Palacio da Pena, stunning place and the Moors Castle. Loved your video and now I'm really enjoying your trip. I'm researching because I plan on cruising in a few years too and you guys are an inspiration. Like Matt I also have an electronics degree and work in IT.

Mike, Rohan & Poppy Great video and editing work. Loved the underwater shots with the turtles. The injured bird was good too, and the hellos to the turtle. I thought the use of the recorded music from the festival during the sail was clever. Most of the best iTunes sailing channels develop a personality cult around the vlogers: think Elayna, Brian and Brady, Kiki, or Nike. And/or there is a lot of drama, such as rough seas (Delos in the Indian Ocean), or the extreme conditions and spectacular camera work on the classic northwest passage of Chris and Jess. In the Flo series, she spends too much time behind the camera and rarely speaks in front of the camera. He is not at his best in front of the camera. There was almost no drama here even when there was the opportunity, she pointed out how long the bike ride was, but there was no sense of struggle or of joy at seeing the flamingos. We see the fish but not the effort to catch it. , etc. These are reasons I think there are fewer subscribers. It's not just about showers and bikinis, the Wynns succeed without this, even though I think that if anything they spend too long talking to the camera.

It doesn't make sense that after a year you only have so few subs. Try using the word "sailing" in your titles as "sailwiththeflo" is not impressing the algorithms.

Please get yourself an electric windless! Besides ruining your backs, it’s a matter of safety. There are times when you need to get that anchor up more quickly, you can’t kedge yourself if necessary, you will tend to put out less scope (it’s only human nature), but mainly it’s really really bad for your back. The potential for injury is much almost inevitable. It really is mandatory in this day and age to have an electric windlass.
@SailingYachtFlorence

Jeffrey Robbins we agree. We fitted one in New Zealand (next video) and have been living the dream ever since. Florence came with a working windlass but it broke in Cape Verde and we haven't stopped anywhere long enough to fit a new one until NZ. Our backs are much happier.

Actually colour absorption in a pool is very different than that in the ocean because of the depth of the water. Water absorbs different wavelengths until only blue remains with red/oranges being the first to go, typically at about 15-30ft. Yellows go by 50ft and greens at around 80ft. The best way to bring colour back is with a strong dive light.
