Looks very well done, as it seems to have fallen entirely within its own footprint. The dome survived and was re-purposed to top a gazebo in a park.

Yes. The copper dome was reused as the topper to a gazebo in a small park. It turned green in a matter of days from the air pollution (copper won't turn green just from exposure to oxygen), so it was removed, repolished, and sealed before being reinstalled on the gazebo.

@@Click-Pow Reading your comment, I couldn't help thinking to myself "Imagine, air pollution in Saint John!" I can still smell the combined stench of the Irving pulp mill and the Moosehead brewery that hung over the Reversing Falls Bridge, and haven't been to Saint John for nearly 30 years...

@@stephenjokela Yep! I remember both of those smells quite well, especially since I worked security at both of those locations at different times during the 1990s. The stench was much worse very late at night, when Irving was fond of discharging effluent. Things have changed a lot since then, though. Thankfully, I can't recall the last time I smelled either the pulp mill or the brewery.

The hospital had been closed for years and the building was condemned.

Yeah, Amos. It's like Dave said....in another piece of footage I saw of the hospital pre-demo, I saw there were 2 or 3 storey holes in the floors of that place as well. A very dangerous situation there. The replacement for this former hospital was opened on Nov. 1, 1982, after it's construction began in 1975, in another part of Saint John. That replacement is the Saint John Regional Hospital, located in Millidgeville, and is over 1 million square feet in size.
