The victory of the Cross of Christ, indeed, in Our Lord's words and actions is the triumph over sin, suffering and death; the triumph over death is the victory of love and of truth and of light and life, and yes even beauty. Our Lord Jesus's love for God's beloved children, sinners, prevails over His suffering even to the last moment. The many lives of the Holy Saints who suffered are a witness to how His love prevails over suffering. The Apostles who were martyred, the Saints who suffered, St. Anthony of the Desert, St. John of the Cross, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Padre Pio, St. Therese of Lisseau, St. Bernadette of Lourdes, St. Faustina, St. Joan of Arc, St. Thomas More, St. John Paul II, St. Theresa of Calcutta, and more. This is evident because love always prevails. Why? If God is Love and God is eternal, then love prevails. Love prevails even in the darkest of moments. Love prevails most especially when all else is lost because God, Who is Love, exists. Love is the Will of God. To do His Will is to Love. To Love is to have goodwill towards others.
