I had this idea a few weeks back for making your childhood recipes. I put a post out asking for your recipes, and you guys didn't disappoint! A bunch of you told me about what your mum, dad and grandparents made for you as a child. Some of you sent me recipes, and this was one of them. Sally wrote a comment talking about her mum's corned beef 'ash, not hash but 'ash. Her mum was taught the recipe by her father, who made it whilst serving in the trenches of the first world war! Sally continues to make it today for her own children, so it's been passed down through the family. A lovely story, and an even lovelier recipe. This is proper comfort food, and a real taste of home...if that makes sense.

To make Sally's mums corned beef 'ash you will need:
►5-6 medium sized potatoes (I used maris piper)
►1 x 340g tin of corned beef
►2 large onions
►3-4 carrots
►About 1.5 litres of water
►Salt & pepper
►1 x 400g tin of oxtail soup
You'll also want a nice deep pot to cook it in.
