This beautiful yummy fish curry is made of Salmon. It’s spicy, tangy and infused with coconut milk . Every bite you take will make you feel like you had fish tasted this good .
This curry is passed on by my grandmom who was fond of cooking and serving her delicious dishes to all her kids and grand kids .
Kerala is famous for its fish recipes and also has an authentic way of cooking these . Here I have used clay pot for cooking this fish curry .
The spicy curry has Kashmiri chilly powder which not just gives the beautiful color but also gives a beautiful texture to the curry by thickening the curry and giving it a silky smooth texture . To top it all I have also added coconut milk which is going to accelerate the taste of this yummy curry .
I’d love to bring this delicious recipe to my table atleast once in two weeks cause my family loves this recipe. We enjoy it with tapioca, rice , idli, dosa and appam .
Ingredients
2 pound salmon
3 tablespoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seed
Curry leaves - handful
4-5 Green chilies finely chopped
1 tablespoon ginger finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic finely chopped
1 medium sized red onion finely chopped
2 table spoon Kashmiri chilly powder paste
2 teaspoon spoon salt
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Malabar tamarind 6-7
Water 2 cup
1/2 cup thick coconut milk
Note - you can use stainless steel or no stick for making this curry . Using Clay pot is the traditional way which adds flavor to the curry .
Malabar tamarind is definitely a must for this recipe.Besides the taste it has a lot of health benefits too.
