Atlantic salmon accumulating and maturing below a riffle on the River Avon (A'an)/ Lochy junction in the Cairngorms, Eastern Scotland, late October 2015. Individual fish essentially keep station hour after hour, but with an occasional bit of action every 5 minutes or so. Here this includes a fish yawn, displaying developing hooked jaw at 01:45; a hen (?) rising to the surface and returning at 06:24; a fish vigorously rock rubbing (08:19); a large cock fish lurking in the background jumps and returns to station (08:24); a smaller male challenges the large cock (14:48), rather unwisely as the cock responds and the smaller male flees the scene (15:06). Then, at 18:39 a hen (?) enters the scene right, spots the large cock male and joins it.
