Today, Alex and Matt put the Salomon Shift MNC 13 head-to-head with the Marker Duke PT 16, the two leading hybrid/freeride bindings on the market.
Both of these bindings are designed to be skied downhill like full-on alpine bindings. Yet they both also have tech fittings in the toepieces, allowing them to be used like tech touring bindings for alpine touring. This versatility has led to the explosion of a whole new category of ski gear: hybrid aka freeride touring aka 50/50. Whatever you call it, it's pretty revolutionary.
Note: The Salomon Shift 13 is also available in an 11 DIN version, while the Duke PT 16 is also available in a 12 DIN version (for 2022-23) and will be available in 11 and 13 DIN models for 2023-24.
You can find both of these bindings, along with many others, at www.powder7.com/
