Salsa Morita is a red salsa originating from Mexico. It is probably the best salsa out there as it is easy to make and works on just about anything.
Ingredients
4 morita chillies
3 chillie arbol
1 guajillos chilli
2 green jalapenos (optional)
2 plum tomatoes
1 red onion
1 tsp salt
2-3 tbsp olive oil
5 garlic cloves
1 tbs apple cider vinegar
~200 ml water
Method
Cut up and broil tomatos, onion, garlic and jalapeños in oven until they have a nice char
De-seed the Guajillo chillies
Toast all the dried peppers in olive oil until peppers come back to life or turn a deep red color (be careful of burning!)
Add roasted onion, tomatoes, jalapeños and garlic with toasted chillies to blender along with apple cider vinegar and a dash of water
Blend until smooth
Cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes
Let it cool before serving (ideally overnight in the fridge)
