Saltatio Mortis (pronounced Saltacio Mortis) are a German medieval metal band. But they sing here in a nordic language, as this song goes back to ancient times. "My Mother Told Me" is a famous ancient Norse Skaldic song composed by Egill Skallagrímsson. My suggestions for next stops with Saltatio Mortis: "The Dragonborn comes" and "Pray to the Hunter"

Nordic/Germanic tribes are very much related I think that si why. Depending on the region in Germany you are from there are different tribal influences from viking to celtic to whatever from the south. This video looks pretty germanic :D

One thing to point out here, the thing they did in the video is what was called Holmgang (Old Norse: holmganga, Icelandic: hólmganga, Danish and Norwegian: holmgang, Swedish: holmgång) It was a duel practiced by early medieval Scandinavians and was a legally recognized way to settle disputes or if someone's honor had been trampled upon. It was usually settled when someone drew blood and was not always fatal but it did still happen the people lost their lives.
