I had a Smith spreader and it was easily the best salter I have owned BUT back when I had mine the controller and wiring were so "backyard mechanicish" . I think I remember them admitting they were having issues with suppliers and design...Did you experience this?...Best, Steve

Yes we did have this issue. The controller wasn't communicating with the computer. Dealt with it for a couple years but they worked through it and everything is good now.

Auger driven are good for salt but if u sand the sand doesn't pass thro as good like the chain drive I used run salt dog Auger feed worked great for salt but didn't like it to spread sand it sucked

Smith just priced themselves out of the market they wanted $12,000 for a 1 yard salter. I bought a boss 1 yard after that. Sad thing is I like smith.
