Salty sugar is a typical dessert of the canton of Vaud. The now counter-intuitive term "salty" is attested as early as 1660 and referred to any form of cake.

Ingredients:
250 g of white flour
30g of butter
1.5 dl of milk
7 g of dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt
Trim:
200g double cream
6 tsp sugar
butter (optional)
