the recipe contains oil (fat). It is therefore unsuitable for "sailor's log term food" as the fat will go rancid. Water/Soda crackers contain no fats at all

i added it some sodium bicarbonate and they tasted even better than the store bough ones. kind of stressful to make sure they dont burn in one side while the other is almost raw though

Do these turn out crisp and flaky like a true saltine cracker? I tried a different saltine cracker recipe that I found on the internet and the result was soft, chewy, bendable, and did not taste anything like a saltine. I made a second batch and rolled them paper thin thinking that would solve the problem. It didn't. Any advice?

sailors did not have this they had hardtack just water and flour mixed up then immediately baked no rising no salt just flour and water its hard as hell and way thicker than this it will break a tooth

Hi, I have eaten a sweet version of this. I'd like to substitute olive oil with vegetable oil and to top with sugar instead. how do you suggest since sugar burns quickly?

i can't make as cheap as GV saltine crackers! Sure home made is lots better! but cost more, i can't even make bread THIS CHEAP ! Walmart $1.00 a loaf Italian or French Bread ~ MY GOD ! I can't beat it. Sure my home made bread is lots better ~ But the price to make my home made bread? about $5.00 a loaf > Cause the price on Yeast, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds ect. Electric and so on
