Between 2012 - 2026, African Digital Heritage founder Chao Tayiana Maina travelled across Kenya, documenting the history and state of railway stations that were part of the Kenya-Uganda railway line constructed by the British colonial government in 1896 - 1901.
The project was one of a kind journey to document Kenya’s railway stations that were at risk of demolition and severe dilapidation. It showcases a journey across Kenya to document the obvious, the elusive, the tangible and the intangible.
