Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to taste the same bean, roasted to about the same roast level, on three different home roasters...the Fresh Roast SR540, a Whirley Pop stove top popcorn popper, and an Aillio Bullet Roaster. (I roasted the Fresh Roast, the other two were from other experienced home roasters, we just exchanged the roasted coffee). The verdict? Honestly they were pretty similar. If you had given me any one of these coffees as a single cup, I probably would say "Mmm, well done, tastes like a nice, natural processed Ethiopian coffee." There were some differences in a blind, side-by-side cupping, and I had a preference, which I note in the video.
Note that this video was shot back in March 2020 but for a variety of reasons, I just now was able to edit and post. Also fwiw, I buy all my own beans and equipment, no sponsors or affiliates. Thanks for watching.
