And Sammy certainly does because he has only cut songs that he's lived. That's one reason every song he sings resonates so well with every word of each song and his voice resonates so greatly. He is 100% real and not a hint of fake or imitation in him whatsoever.

One of my all time favorites. I worked in a small town diner as a cook when we used to just put on this CD and along with George Strait and Jones, Keith Whitley, John Michael Montgomery, etc...it was one of those things that just came natural. Met this man a lot of years ago at the county fair I worked at as a deputy sheriff for security for him. He practically had pneumonia - the county doctor saw him and gave him antibiotics. He told the crowd we drove all this way and we have to do a show. He did, and standing less than twenty feet from him I could see he was sicker than a dog. He already had hits and he could've have cancelled. He didn't. Stand up man that cares about his fans!

The first time "Cadillac Style" aired on CMT I was hooked. Loved me some Sammy Kershaw. When he came to Bakersfield I was so excited and jumped on buying a ticket to go. He had only been out for a couple of years or so at that time. I could hardly function until the day finally came. I got there, bought an 8x10 to hopefully have signed and considering it was small club so I didn't think it would be a problem. It broke my heart when he came out, wasn't very pleasant with the fans and immediately left after the show. No signing, nothing. He. Just. Left. Within 2 yrs I had a "concert wall" with over 120 photos from the concerts I had been to, all autographed but one. Yep. I considered not putting it up because it stood out and made me sad every time I looked at it. I loved music and concerts were my favorite thing to do from the mid 90s- 2002, before I moved away, but I'll never get over how crushed I was over that.

there were four songs that came out between 91 and 92 that i liked because they talked about divorce and its effects. sammy kershaw had this one, while tracy lawrence mark chesnutt and doug supernaw had "sticks and stones", "almost goodbye" and "i don't call him Daddy" respectively. i like all four of these songs because I'm a child of divorce myself, and my mom and dad were in the process of getting a divorce around that era.,so i had to deal with all the stuff mentioned in these four songs. the name calling, the loss of a great deal of my toys, etc. etc. it's a testament to a song's staying power when it's being played over two decades after it was originally released. It's also good to hear sammy has a new song out now, in which he's joined by Joe Diffie and Aaron Tippin. welcome back sammy!
