Besides being a top notch artist, Mr. Kershaw seems to have a good head for politics as well. He made a few runs for governor in his home state of Louisiana, but that's small potatoes. I think either Trump or DeSantis need to put him on the ticket as vice president. :-) And thanks for the shout-out Don! I think its only fitting to show a little gratitude for all the consistent hard work you put in the channel to entertain us. Your boys are looking pretty good this season! As long as they keep their running game working, Temple shouldn't even be threat. I'm still sulking (okay...agonizing) from the Alabama game... :-(

Hi Dave, you shouldn't be ' sulking ' you should be proud, The Longhorns put up a he!!uva fight and made it a much better game than I ever imagined they would. If not for the QB injuries I believe they would have pulled it out. Depending on QB situation looks like the "Horns have a chance at a good season also.--#UTRCM

@@davidemswiler4351 Hi David hopefully your 'Horns will get a big win today vs UTSA ( they certainly should ) and further assuage your 'sulkiness'. Also I'm hoping you might be able to help me out, I'm trying to create a playlist of anti-Nashville songs. I have about 12 from post 1990 but only 2 from pre 1990, Waylon's"Are You Sure Hank Done it This Away" and Ray Wylie's "Screw You We're from Texas". So any song you know that might fit and particularly if it is an earlier one, I would deeply appreciate you passing it on to me. Also a song you might like Sturgill Simpson's " One in the Saddle, One on the Ground". Have a great Saturday gotta run do chores before Ga. @ S.C. I hate Noon start times.---#UTRCM

@@mikebarnett9012 Hi! Thank you! Thank goodness for part time! I LOVE it. But why things haven't slowed down I don't know! Still busy as ever. Glad it's cooling down some, much better temperature's to contend with chickens! If Dave gets up to par it'll be perfect backroad Jeep riding weather! Hope you are well Mike!

Hi Don, you're right this is a phenomenal country song and a typical country shuffle. One of my all time favorite country songs, however not this particular version. As a matter of fact I wouldn't even put Sammy's version in my top 5 versions. My favorite is the original version done by the great George Jones another version I like is The Byrds who diid a remarkable cover on their seminal country album 'Sweethearts of the Rodeo' Rodney Crowell, Leeann Womack and Holly Pitney McCubin have all done phenomenal covers. This version is a little to Nashville clean and don't really convey the raw pain of the others IMHO. However, that is just my opinion and the song is such a well written song ( written by George himself ) that there really aren't any bad versions of it. Great request Rob and great reaction Don.----#UTRCM

Good afternoon my friend! I totally agree with you that I prefer the Possum’s version! Now I have to find the rendition you mentioned by The Byrds…… Have a great day Mike! #UTRCM

@@cliffordbarnes1631 That whole Byrd's Album is pretty phenomenal and one of the the albums that led me back to country after yrs. of being a rock fan. Ralph Emery basically told them he wouldn't be playing no hippies on his radio station, they initially got booed off the stage at the Grand Ole Opry but by the end had changed some minds. They also later wrote the song "Drug-Store Truck Driving Man" expressing their opinion of Mr. Ralph Emery. My day is looking really good right now, the weather is really nice in Ga. right now. I'm considering a drive up into the North Ga. mountains this weekend. I hope your evening is nice also. Hope you enjoy a cold one while llistening to good music---#UTRCM

Hey Don another one I hadn't heard in a while! I do like Sammy and this song, but I agree with Mike that George did this one best. Sammy is a big fan of George's - he performed on the 50th Celebration TV Special for George (where I think this song came from), and also made a tribute album to George - Do You Know Me. Great song - thanks for the request Rob and another great reaction Don!

Wow, loved the rating and the song. There's something about a Texas shuffle tune - Ray Price comes to mind. I just know I'm gonna like 'em. At first, I thought it sounded a lot like a George Jones song, and Mike verified that.

Yes that is good ole country music, originally a George Jones song, I would like to have you react to a Ronnie Milsap, called " no relief in sight" I think you'll enjoy it.
