This monitor has been out for about 8-9 months, so if you do decide to get it, it’s a great value since I’ve seen it drop significantly in price. Another option is the Alienware QD-OLED 34” without the G-Sync module. It’s basically the same exact display (Samsung makes it) but you do sacrifice the USB-C

I have to agree with you. I don't use the smart functions either. I have my 65 inch OLED TV for this. But I thought about it a bit and if anyone who doesn't have a TV buys this monitor, they will definitely love it. Then he also has a small television. I think this feature only exists so that you can increase the price. It's not a lot of work. Simply load the existing software onto the monitor and you're done. 1 minute of work but at least 200€ more in sales.

Awesome video! I'm also a mac user and I'm curious if you've noticed any text color fringing when using your mac? I've seen some reviews say its there, but they're all using PCs. LTT has ruled this to be a software problem rather than a hardware problem. So I'm curious if the same problem exists with Macs or not. I do a lot of text based things on my mac and that might be a deal breaker if its annoyingly obvious.

Yes, but like the guy said. The interface would be better if it was a monitor that selects the inputs. The way it works now is that the Samsung stuff is the primary functionality and the PC is secondary. 90%Most of the time it will work like a monitor does, but sometimes it will do weird shit like leave osd stuff on the screen or push you into the samsung home like a TV would. Which can be frustrating because then you have to navigate through the whole ass menu to get back to your PC. It has done this a couple of times when I was alt tabbing which was infuriating.

I bought it to replace a 34" WQHD Samsung S65UA (IPS, same resolution as Odyssey), which I returned because I was very disappointed with the brightness, viewing angles, and text clarity and contrast, which I thought were really poor. I connected the S65UA with the included USB-C cable to my iMac M1 ... and the only way I could get reasonable text clarity was by scaling the HiDpi resolution (3062 x 1282). You lose something in resolution but the improvement in font design is clearly noticeable. I saw in the video that you had no problems and I am very curious (and scared) to try it when it arrives. I honestly don't know if I should, as I read in the comments, purchase a USB-C to Mini DP cable (USB-C from my iMac to Mini DP to monitor) This has been a significant investment for me, so any comments, suggestions or opinions will be greatly appreciated indeed.

It’s really not an issue, I play WoW for more than 6 hours a day. My UI is static and I have an lg C1 48” that I used for roughly 2 years and then replaced it with the 42” C2 when that came out. Both have no signs of burn in. The 48” is in the living room now. They are great but they are only 120hz and kinda white washed in color accuracy compared to the QD-Oled which is what I’m going with next. Been watching reviews to determine which one I get.

5:24 I disagree, if you're a kid with a PC in your room and you want to watch TV from bed with a remote, you at least have that option. This way, you don't need both a monitor and a TV in your room; essentially, you have both functionalities in one device. What I would like to clarify is whether I can utilize the Smart TV features without powering on my PC tower, as that would truly make it a dual-purpose setup.

Workarounds yes, but so we buy stuff with workarounds these days. Not recommending buying this, oled is very nice thats so but only when it turns on properly . I just took me 7 minutes again to have my screen working, 13 times power button reset bla bla bla and it works! Congratulations

Hook it up to wifi and update the firmware... if that doesn't help I've read it could be a problem with how your GPU handles display port so using micro HDMI is an option (better hdr too). I ran into a small problem where turning the screen off and on corrupted my display driver somehow and would make it cut to black intermittently... clean reinstalling the driver seemed to fix that.
