Yes, this is really aimed at Samsung fans as anyone that has used a MB Pro 16 M2 would def buy the Mac. Twice the battery life on the Mac, full performance when on battery, better thermals, as good a display, better IO on the Mac, higher configs, max of 16GB RAM on a creators laptop is the end of the Samsung for any pro-creator. Better speakers on the Mac. Better trackpad, and no number pad. For the neutral Windows users I think that there are many better choices at these prices than the Ultra, though few as thin and light (not necessarily a positive in this market sector). Easy pass until the prices drop 40% or more.

@@akarshJD Well, the "not as good" is just like "macbook killer".... If you need a laptop that runs forever then at this moment you either carry an ARM based machine or .... there is no other option. I am not an Apple user, but I still wish my Linux had that trackpad what's on my wife's Macbook. (or even the one I used 10 years ago... and refuses to work with Linux :( ) .... I am a trackball user for work and would switch to the Apple trackpad if it worked on my system as the gestures are genius and it is a very smooth experience. As for the screen... I use 3 external screens so I don't care that much for a laptop screen. I look at text when working and my gaming monitor is an ultrawide on PC and a 4K TV on PS5... so if it cranks out 100Hz and I see the text I am looking at I am OK with it... But again .... my wife's Macbook Air has a very nice display.

@@SamsungS23Ultr ecosystem is a subjective preference. As for other laptops with similar specs, low weight and thinness, plenty to pick from, not all yet on the market, but Samsung isn't unique in this. As for price, I'd expect Samsung's version to be on the higher end of the spectrum, just as that's what I expect as standard, though I haven't delved into the competition's pricing, so I might be wrong. I'm also very skeptical about the argument on the gaming performance being a reason to pick this over a Macbook, when it only has a 100W power brick, that means the TGP of both CPU and GPU are likely capped pretty low, bottlenecking performance (the 4070 TGP can be configured from 35W up to 115W). Can't find any information on this though to confirm. If I had to make the choice, I'd probably got for the Macbook. Samsung Ecosystem is very bad. 1. The amount of bloatware is just staggering. Phones have tens of gigabytes of bloatware. Irony is that Android/Tizen is built on Linux, the anthithesis of bloatware. 2. Any and all good stuff Samsung drops or just does not further develop, like Samsung Dex. 3. Integration/synergy with other Samsung products is horrible. Take monitors and TVs for example. USB-C is incredibly useful technology, yet you barely see it properly made use of in monitors. You don't need huge power cable AND HDMI/Display port to power it and transfer image/data - just a USB-C cable from a laptop is enough to power it and provide a picture. . USB can power the connected laptop also. Placing ports on the sides is way better than on the bottom - commercials show a desk with plenty open space behind monitor, in reality it is a wall behind monitor. Just place a phone on a monitor stand and thats it! Wireless phone charging can be integrated into the laptop stand bottom. 4. Android/Tizen just bombs third party apps use of hardware. On iOS Instagram can get 100% of camera's use, while on Android/Tizen it is standard phone camera app that gets to use stuff 100%, at best.

If Samsung is willing to move backwards like Apple, making a laptop in a thickness and weight like 10 years ago, they could have solved most problem he mentioned, like a bigger battery, a bigger speaker that produce stronger bass, a more heavy duty hinge to make the screen less wobble. For me the Macbook is interesting because of the long battery run time and because it runs a Unix-like operating system I prefer for work (programming server *things* to run on Linux).... That said, I don't even own a laptop at the moment (one that works sufficiently) as I don't need one. If I needed one, I would get a Macbook Air with M1 and call it a day. I work on a 3900x , 64 GB, Linux ... so if I had to be mobile suddenly, it would be a Mac, even though I am not an Apple fanboy (no iPhone, no i-anything)

Nothing will be a macbook killer, however in the windows world, this device in my eyes is the closest for now. I own the 4050 model, I love this laptop so much! I just wish the speakers were better, but outside of that, still a great machine for the price in my opinion. Macbook will always be king, if you like Mac OS.

Lacking IO means it'll never really be a Macbook Pro killer for the people who do actually use that for pro tasks. There's a reason that Apple brought back the full size SD card slot after attempting to remove it... "Pro" laptops aren't just about the performance!

@@SamsungS23Ultr Depends on the platform of preference really but I still yearn for the day when Windows laptops don’t need to be shackled to wall plugs just so you can fully maximize what you paid for. I have had this in the I9 / 32gb variety since the launch. Performance - Great, gaming (occasional) -great, battery life - ok. Screen- geat - but wobbly and extremely reflective. Sound - good for a windows machine. The killer on this laptop is the trackpad response during small movements for detail work such as spreadsheets / navigating forms etc. It is absolutely horrible. Almost useless. takes a half second or so to begin moving from stationary position if making small movements. Such a shame. You wont notice it for larger movements until actually using it for work. Lenovo ThinkPd - PLEASE make something to compete with this machine but with the AMAZING Lenovo keyboard and trackpad. Macbook just blows this away in every metric for me, but i actually prefer windows and have to have it for a number of business software applications in our industry.

I can live with the 100w thermal limits. But for pros, with the RTX 4070 I would’ve liked to see a 64gb ram option. Really, the bare minimum is 32gb for that kind of pricing. If you can’t compete with Mac in terms of battery life performance then you should make it more appealing in other areas.
