For how small it is it seems like it does a fairly good job of what it sets out to do. It's great to see tech companies branching out to try new products!

The biggest problem I have with any of these smart rings is that the battery is not replaceable so after a year or so when the very small battery has reached a point of just not holding enough charge to make it useful, you have to just through it away and buy another, aside from this being quite expensive it's also more e-waste. Personally I'll stick to a smart watch coz at least you can change the battery and pass it on when you do decide to buy a new one.

can you send it in for a replacement ring with Samsung premium? or perhaps switch sizes since it comes with a lot of size options?

You can see the HRV on the energy score, you can also see your Low HR during sleep on the Health app, it shows the highest and lowest HR during sleep, and the SPO2 doesnt tell exactly but you do have a graphic between 90-100% and tells if you had less than 90%

I mean, bro said that he expected the same results, but it fared better than he expected in those scenarios. But you make a valid point, and it's the reason I'm wondering if I want to buy one. There is another thing, I wear my watches on my left hand, and my jewelry type Gold-White gold diamond ring on my right hand. My left hand is my non-dominant hand, which wears my watches. I have a nice blackened stainless steel and titanium watch which would match the Galaxy ring in black, if I bought one and wore it on my left hand in tangent with the watch.

You shouldn't be wearing rings while rock climbing anyway.

Thanks for the details! I remain intrigued but feel like the price is still too high for what it does (especially as I already have the watch). I think it would be more compelling to me at the 200-250 range.

Great, very thorough review 👍. As I mentioned before, I still think manufacturers should explore different styles beyond the wedding band design. It would be nice to see a smaller, signet-style option that could accommodate more battery and sensors. If I'm already wearing a ring, an extra 2-3 grams wouldn’t bother me, especially if it means I can skip wearing a watch.

With a month of data, was a decent enough chunk done with the galaxy watch ultra? I hear the watch and ring work together to get more accurate information. I wonder if it would end up being closer to something like a whoop strap or if there's really any meaningful change to the accuracy of the data.

Do you actually need a ring if you already wear a Galaxy watch?

it's probably more comfortable to sleep with a ring compared to a watch.
@viktorbihar5384

@@marley720 True. It's mainly for those who want something simple that can do some of the things that a Galaxy watch does. Measuring vitals is kinda the reason for the ring, and since watches aren't comfortable when sleeping with them, people usually take them off, and at that point you are no longer getting measurements. The ring basically mitigates the lack of comfort, and in exchange you get constant stats on your wellbeing.
@fuzziestlumpkin

I've got both, and the honest answer is no. But the ring does seem to do a bit better with sleep tracking and the temperature sensor and oxygen saturation seem to be far more accurate. I am using a watch 5 Pro though so the differences may be slimmer on a watch 7.
@minusmartin

its supposed to be better at tracking your sleep, heart beat and all that since the finger is supposedly the best way to measure those things vs your wrist. its like the watch is a jack of all trades and this ring is the master of one. Im sticking with the watch since i am not a ring guy. the metrics it measures seem to be very accurate for me so i am fine

I have 2 watches and I am always wearing one. Need to force sync by changing the connected watches, its annoying. I wonder how good are the software to pull the data from the ring. Samsung is not very user friendly.

Chase the summit compared the accuracy of the heart rate monitor to his garmin chest strap while running and the galaxy ring is far far from being accurate, if it's far from being accurate they're basically useless

@Cad7TB

@arctictruck10 is actually not mathing. What's your evidence that the lifespan of the Galaxy ring will be 2 years. Battery lifespan heavily relies on the care and usage. Oura rings are know to last around 2.5 years on average, prove to me that the Galaxy will last less when the Galaxy ring has naturally bigger batteries
