I hear ya. Ive had several comments which say when they called 1-800-SAMSUNG, Samsung has been paying for parts and the labor to install in order to fix this problem.

They are fixing them and paying for the parts and labor. I just called 1-800-SAMSUNG regarding my fridge and they fixed it. The video is up on my channel.

Samsung is replacing these for free now with updated 2020 models of the parts. The service includes a new auger motor, a new ice maker, a new circuit board, a new drain pipe and silicon insulation. Instead of these button hacks, I would just call them and even an out of warranty fridge will be fixed for free. You don't have to pay for parts or labor. Call 1800-SAMSUNG then press # for the touch tone system then press option 3, then option 1. It will start the agent transfer then a question will be asked what you're calling about, now Press 1 for ice maker issues.

I just called them yesterday and the first agent told me they would fix it for a cost of $385. I escalated and the agent just repeated, sorry we do not offer anything else. No we are not aware of any ongoing issues with the ice machines. I was irate. The ice machine just makes a whirring sound ... whirr... whirrr...whirrr HELP Please

Samsung is footing the bill on this design flaw. They will send a ice maker repair kit in the mail and setup a technician to come install the components. Even if you are past your 1yr warranty. They tried to reinvent the wheel and get cute! Lol ice makers belong in the freezer not the fridge samsung. Sheeesh 🤣

I have called them so many times telling them I need them to pay for the repair and they basically told me to beat it. :( I was escalated and that agent claimed the company didn't know anything about an 'existing issue with the icemaker' :( Can you provide any insight? Thanks in advance.

@@siobhankoroll4456 it depends on how your explaining the issue. When you call them next time you need to only talk about your ice maker. Tell them your tray is frozen shut and you can't even get it out, and when you do its so iced up and you can't get ice. You may need to speak to the manager if the phone rep is acting oblivious. I wish this helps

Good tips. I've done this a few time. I ultimately had Samsung fix it. There was updated software as well as some upgraded parts. Hasn't happened ever since.

Nov. 5, 2021....11:00 pm. My Samsung is five years old. I had the extended warranty so Lowes repaired it 6 times for the same problem....ice maker freezing up. Now my extended warranty is up. But low and behold Samsung called me to say they were taking over the service of their design flawed ice makers. (there is a class action lawsuit now over the faulty design). So Samsung sent out a technician and he replaced the whole ice maker .....no charge!!! If it freezes up again they will keep coming out to repair it free. Now mind you, Samsung technician just left yesterday and the ice maker had not started making ice. I followed Just a Dude's advice and went through several steps. The one that seems to have worked is that reset button. Take the ice bin out and hold in that little blue button for about 10 seconds...until you hear the little beeps. Sure enough once it completed that 6 minute cycle I heard ice dump. So hopefully over night the ice maker will make more ice and I should have a bin full of ice in the morning. I will check back with you all and let you know if I am happy tomorrow. Thank you...Just A Dude!! I subscribed.

Hello, its probably frozen in there. Use the forced defrost option. It might take a couple cycles of this to get through ice melted enough for the ice tray to be removed. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

Great video I just have one concern. According to Samsung ideal temp for freezer is -2 Fahrenheit. Talking to a refrigerator mechanic he said not to put it below 0°. I used to run mine at -8 and had problems. Now I run it at -1 and have yet to have any issues.

3:25 taking out the ice tray and holding the button to reset the ice maker, did the trick for me! Thank you for the step by step tutorial. I think it stopped making ice for me, after I did a defrosting procedure that I learned from another video, because I started hearing the fan blades chafing against frost buildup. I have the same model fridge as yours. Thanks again for posting helpful videos like this 😊

Thank you a GREAT video that saved me LOTS of money! Replaced the icemaker unit ($55 online for the OEM part...after a bit of shopping), followed your tips -- esp. helpful was holding down the reset button till it chimes (3-10 seconds) -- and now have a working icemaker again! Also turning the temp down to -8 (who knew???) and checking the supply flow was very helpful! THANK YOU and God bless you!

Hello. Great question. Sometimes it chimes, sometimes it doesn’t. If you pressed the button I would just assume the ice maker is now doing a “reset”. From some of the comment on this thread, it seems the reset could start as soon as 24 hours or last for 48 hours. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

Correction: did steps 1 and 2. On step 3, the reset button chimes after a few seconds BUT DOES NOT chime after 6 minutes or later. Have tried this twice over 48 hours. Any thoughts?

It might but people have also said it takes some time. Ive had comments where people have said the ice maker started working again after 3 days. I would leave it alone for a couple days and see what happens. Have you tried calling Samsung?

From what others have said, its common for the chime to not happen. Its just a waiting game now. One person posted his ice maker started making ice one night three weeks after they pressed the reset button.

I have the same model fridge as yours. my problem is my ice maker does not stop making ice until everything is choked with ice cubes. I was wondering if you know what controls the ice maker to know when the ice tray is full and stop making more ice. I ran the self-test as you describe and it passed. Thank you for the post.

I do not know. Im sure there is a switch somewhere. My advice, call 1-800-Samsung. There is a class action lawsuit and a lot of people on this thread are saying Samsung paid for the parts and the installation even of the fridge is out of warranty. Hope this helps. Unplugging, resetting haven't worked! There is no ice buildup. I've pressed the reset button numerous times, heard it chime twice. There is no other noises. When it was working we could hear the water filling. Now it's very, very quiet! Time for a call to Samsung Canada? Thanks for the video!

Ive had some one comment where they did the same thing then, one day, after three weeks, it just started making ice again. Maybe just let the fridge sit for a while. Also, Im sure you already checked this but just make sure the ice maker is on in the front door display.

Great video. Both of my icemakers stopped working, i did a defrost which didnt work. NEXT DAY I unplugged it for 10 minutes, did another defrost and the top icemaker started producing but not the freezer icemaker. I skipped a day then did another defrost and the following day the bottom icemaker started working.

I has problem, water dispenser work fine. Inside ice maker did not frozen up but it did not any ice at all. Watch your video is very helpful. I just go ahead replace new water filter (only few weeks old) press side button, I heard ding. -dong sound but 5 minutes later there is no ding-dong sound. So I unplugged the power cord and plug back in 2 minutes later…..few hours later I can hear ice cubes dropping loud and clear. I would like to say “ thank you for great video”.

Samsung products are all garbage with many problems and reverse engineering issues to make us to pay more for parts, repairs or replacements. We had a history of bad experiences with different Samsung products.

I think the unplug reset time was either 5 or 10 mins but, if I were you, I would call 1-800-SAMSUNG. There have been multiple people here who have said Samsung have paid for the parts and labor to fix refrigerators which were even out of warranty. Hope this helps.

Great question. I would first make sure you have water going into the refrigerator. If the water source is good it might be a clogged filter. If that doesn’t take care of the issue then there is an internal blockage somewhere. Solving that issue is beyond my capability. Hope this helps and sorry I couldn’t provide more information.

Matt our ice maker kept freezing over and blocking the ice flow. The third tech adjusted the water pressure to fix that problem. I wasn't here to see how he did it. No more defrost our ice maker since that fix.

hello, I have changed the filter, force defrost, I have good water pressure, I reset and I hear the bell after 6 minutes, then after an hour I hear ice falling until 3 times for about the first 4 hours then nothing even after 24 hours no ice falling, I don't understand?

Id call 1-800-SAMSUNG. A LOT of people on this thread have been saying SAMSUNG has paid for the parts and labor to fix these issues on their refrigerators even when the fridge is out of warranty. Hope this helps.

I would first google the model I have and try to find an owners manual. Sometimes you get lucky and find the PDF version of your owners manual. That would be your best bet. Hope this helps.

i fixed my fridge non-dispensing water/ice issue by : 1) remove the water container(supplied with the fridge) first, mine is non-plumbing fridge 2) insert the 50ml syringe(filled with water) into the water container hole 3) press on the button sensor (beside the container location) to simulate(or bluff the fridge) that u had put back the container 4) when u hear the fridge pump machine sound 5) compress your syringe to fill the water pipe(in the fridge) with water. some water will leak so prepare a cloth to wipe 6) Voila. done.

Update!! Call samsung...give them the info...answer a few questions..will send a tech out..will replace all parts necessary ice maker Zaza water tube, and few more parts in the back with New parts! No charge!!!

I completely understand. Have you called 1-800-SAMSUNG? They came out and paid for the parts and labor to replace my icemaker. I have a video detailing the call. Might be worth a shot. I haven’t had a problem with the icemaker since.

Don’t give. Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for the ice maker to reset. Give it a day or two. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching

4:10 Uh oh ... Mine doesn't chime or respond in any way, no matter how long I hold it down. Freezer works, water dispenser works, everything works except that icemaker. Sounds like I'll probably need to order a new part. Got any ideas which piece might be dysfunctional, and if so how to fix it, before I order a new part?

Call 1-800-Samsung. There have been numerous people on this video say that Samsung paid for the replacement parts and the labor for this fix even if the refrigerator is out of warranty. There was a person on this post who even posted what numbers to press after they dialed the number to get to the right person to fix this problem. Hope this helps. Call Samsung and have them fix it. I have a 7 year old Samsung fridge with the same stupid ice maker or space where ice is not made. Called them and they replaced a bunch of parts. I didn’t have any extended warranty. They came out and replaced all the parts, including the circuit board at no charge. No charge, no money, no trading in children. I was impressed with Samsung because they knew they had a crappy product and fixed it.

What's a reason for water being in the bottom of the refrigerator portion, the lowest drawer gets stuck because of the water freezing.

Been struggling with ice maker all summer, your talking about the blue button opened my eyes. Previously I was pressing this button to reset, but now you’re saying it’s actually a “test” button and should wait 6 minutes or so to hear the second chime. What???? Great job. I pushed the reset button. 5 minutes later I hear a noise of ice dropping. There must have been ice stuck somewhere. All is good Thanks though I did pay for a 5 year warranty from Samsung as backup.

I have another video about how to take the icetray out. Dont yank on the icetray if its hard to remove. You might have to put the refrigerator in forced defrost mode a couple times to melt enough ice to remove the tray. Hope this helps. Please like and subscribe.

Thanks for the good info and I love your sign off "If I can't fix it, I'll fix it where nobody else can" lol love a sense of humor!! I finally managed to get the error code off and reset. The top ice maker is working but likes to freeze up often. I can't get the bottom maker to work at all. I've tried several things. I understand there has been a recall on this model RF263TEASG/AA, however my dad who kept every reciept from the day he was born, doesn't have this one. There is a FB page that addresses this issue, but even with a reciept, people are having to fight for resolution even though it is Samsumgs faulty design in their ivemakers which they are aware of. I added this so if any of your followers have this model and the reciept, it could mean a new frig! Good luck!

Great video. You say what the problem might be and how to fix that problem. The one thing left out was how to flush the system if that's my last resort. We've had our fridge for 10 years and didn't use the ice maker because our water leaked onto the floor. We just repaired the fridge itself which wasn't working and I'd like to try using the ice maker again.

Great question. I do believe on the Samsung website they have a video on the ice maker reset. It states to hold the button down for five seconds or until a chime is heard. Makes me think not all resets will chime. They also stated to not do it more than once in a 24 hour period. Id wait for two days, 48 hours. If the icemaker starts making ice again then your original reset was successful. If it doesn’t, then it would be safe to try the reset button again. Hope this helps. Thank you!

I have not had ice for a very long time. My display broke early on and a repairman came and replaced it under warranty. Display broke again almost immediately. I use a thermometer. I was skeptical about doing the quick freeze and it is a little intimidating, what if something breaks? Huge thanks to the both of you, who would have thought.🥳
