Thank you for the review. I currently own 2 LG OLEDS, a C965 and C755. In my opinion the picture quality can not be matched... BUT after 2 years, the burn-in that I have on my C7 is horrible. My high end plasma TV's were daily use sets and I never had the slightest bit of burn-in. The reality is that it is near impossible to watch any television programming that doesn't have static images on the screen. I will be replacing the C7 with a Samsung QLED, and unless LG figures out some way to better safe guard against burn-in, no more OLEDS for me.

@VoidXaero Youre right if its hardcore gaming. But for someone gaming maybe 3-4 hours a day then OLEDS are perfectly fine. And the experience with games that support HDR is incredible with OLEDS. HDR picture is something completely different when you have perfect blacks.
@Avean
4 жыл бұрын
@VoidXaero Yeah totally agree but where you are wrong is that you have to "worry" about OLED's. The worry about burn in is something that was many years ago. There is an article where they have had a OLED in a display shop running discovery for over a year without burn in. Ive had my OLED for over a year and no symptoms so far. Youre missing out in amazing picture quality by skipping OLED. There simply is no other option. QLED's will have strobe of lights over your picture and nowhere near the black level of OLED's which in turn will make your HDR pictures suffer. Im basing my experience on professional video calibrators and sales people that have them on show 24/7 on max brightness and personal use of course.

@andrewcutter6032
5 жыл бұрын
@@NawrasEpicDuel I think you are thinking of the Xbox One S. The One X does native 4k resolution and is usually capped around 30 fps but some games are 60 fps 4k. Variable refresh rate is like freesync / G-sync where the frames are timed with the display to minimize / remove screen tearing. This feature has only been available on monitors which is exciting for console gamers. If you aren't following what I am saying, "Variable refresh rate will allow smooth gaming at lower framerates". Considering the price of the One X compared to a computer with a high end graphics card and CPU you really are getting a great deal. HDMI 2.1 will become more prevalent in the next 2 years which is when Microsoft and Sony are releasing their more powerful consoles that may support 4K @ 120hz considering they are trying to deliver at least 11 teraflops. To circle back to my original comment, the One X is offering a pretty cool feature that gamers can be excited about.

Sorry but you're still incorrect with the '4K spooling' on Prime video; in the original footage on the Samsung you have the "(4K UHD)" version of Bosch loaded, on the LG it's the normal Full HD version. For some reason, even in 2019, you MUST browse through Prime Video to the 4K UHD section and select Bosch from there (and the small banner top left of the video thumbnail should say 4K UHD). Prime video has two completely separate streams for full HD and 4K versions of the same program. If you load the normal version (without 4K UHD in the title) then it will never 'spool' to 4K and will remain at 1080p.

For me, the set that handles glare/reflection and wide viewing angles best is always the best TV to have in practice. Those two things matter so much for me that everything else is secondary. It's a shame the reflection thing is overlooked in this review even though for a lot of people it is what matters when choosing either OLED of specifically this Samsung that has a screen that actually helps quite a bit with reflection.
@dbzssj4678

This absolutely, I remember looking at laptops when they just started using glossy displays, and it was always an instant NO. They've stopped this practice on all but the lowest end models and see it as a cheap way to get more color depth out of crappy TN panels, today they seems to do it to TVs just because people expect gloss on everything.

At 13:31. This is exactly the main issue with the Q9FN and subsequent Q90 models. If you watch dark content with subtitles on, when the subs appear the whole picture will get brighter and no amount of playing with the local dimming or other settings with be able to completely eradicate that problem. It shows even worse when you're watching in a really dark room.

I had a LG Oled (destroyed in house fire). Great picture, but burn in was a problem (no pun intended). My wife had/has a habit of putting the program on pause and walking away and forgetting she did it. In the bottom right corner was a green ghost. So, I replaced it with a Samsung Q90. 3 reasons. 1- No burn in. 2 - One Connect box 3 - Cost Q90 75" $3999 msrp ($2699 online) Oled C9 77" $4495 ($3796 online).

Worth noting that LG has been improving burn-in protection year to year. A B9/C9 OLED is going to do a lot better than a B6/C6 did a few years ago just because of the way they've adjusted the size of the pixels and modified the software. From reports I've read, it was about 5000-10,000 hours of a full blast static bright image on the C9 vs the 500-2000 hours it took on the C6. Do look up the Rtings burn-in report for the type of content that did burn in very fast, CNN in particular completely destroys OLED TVs if left on constantly. For most people though, the C9 should easily last 10+ years.

Just a PSA for everyone in the market looking for a new TV. I bought the LG b6 last year in early 2018. The picture quality of the OLED panel is amazing. However, my b6 has suffered major burn in issues. There is no way to fix burn it. It’s permanent. I watch the news also and the static images at the bottom were burned in. The panel is $900 from LG. Stop saying people shouldn’t worry about burn in. It’s a serious problem. I’m going to buy either a Q80 or a 950. But not OLED. It looks nice out of the box but not worth the burn in.

QLED have come such a long way. Seen oled and QLED side by side. Lg always looks like it has a blue tint so is to cool. Samsung are warmer which I like as it gives more natrual colour pop. But no perfect tv and would say weither its QLED or OLED does it really matter? The differences are not really miles apart and really boils down to if you prefer a darker image that is has a slight blue which really shows in snow scenery or a slightly brighter warm natrual colour and may lean towards yellow more. Being total black levels sure OLED wins here. But really still not much between them. True black in nature does not exist so the QLED would show black as in nature which is not a true black. Really the black levels are no hugh concern for me and no one complained of poor black levels in CRT tvs and never hear about poor blacks on computer monitors. I dont really get it?

Hello, very interesting video but I do not understand the final conclusion. Let me explain: in the start scene with the waterfall, the Q90r has brighter foliage close to reality, there is more detail in the dark areas (gravel near the water). In addition, you say that the image is smoother than on the C9 and that on the C9 there are artefacts. Also in Bosh there is more detail in the ceiling light. Can you answer me a question: Is the image smoother on the Q90r in action scenes such as combat scenes? Because I watch the Treadstone series, where there are very fast fighting scenes and I don't find the image very fluid on my Q90R. I would like to have your opinion on the C9. Thank you in advance.
