@@vulcan4d Take better one with IPS Panel. The color changes to the left and right side and the brightness is getting recognizable low. If I want to see something on the sides, I move my head often 20cm into the according direction to be able to read it clearly. It is a nice television, but doesn't worth the price. I wouldn't recommend it for Desktop use, as it is not recognizable better than a cheap Samsung television as desktop and the technology makes the bottom half mm invisible if you sit in front of it. The content appears if you go down with your head to the bottom line of the television, but this is not how the average person sits in front of the computer, if he or she is not just scratching their feet. I would also recommend to take less than 50", maybe 43"!?! as the pixels are getting visible and the text is like old 24" displays with 2K. And the corners are far away and I don't use this space often. I just put static content there, if I want to check something out, like webbrowser.

Have you tried gaming at darker scene like night time or similar. I pretty sure Q90B did cut down numbers local dimming zones with smaller size within the series, Samsung only spec in 65 in version with full array 40x18 local dimming. Im pretty sure 43 in will reduced a lot, Im just worried the blooming effect is very noticeable due to subpar numbers of local dimming zones. And its pretty sketchy that Samsung never mentioned the actual local dimming zones for each size, even RTINGS cant tell the actual local dimming zones for 43", 50" and 55" QN90B.

What is the pixel clarity like for using the monitor for normal desktop use like reading web pages, word docs, excel, etc? I've heard complaints about the old A model so curious if it is better now :)
@captainkill8433
Жыл бұрын
The pixel clarity is like with a 24" Monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. Downsides for office usage are that the borders are getting darker because of the viewing angle and at the bottom is around 1mm invisible when you sit normal in front of the monitor. If you go with your head down and are on horizontal height of the bottom, you can see all. In real life it has the effect on a windows installation, that the time on the right of the bar is just entirely visible, but the underline indicator for running applications are not visible. They are talking about methods to prevent the angle instability, the downsides of VA panels, but at the end they assemble it just in the televisions from 55" and bigger. I think if I'd have to buy a new Monitor now again, I wouldn't buy the same again. After my meanwhile half year of experience by working every day for many hours on it as developer, I would take a 43" with IPS panel instead.

Great video. This is a key video. I’ve been looking at a 42 C2 as well as the alienware qd OLED. The issue is both those TVs are at risk of burn in. Ya the AW has a warranty for 3 years but the c2 doesn’t unless you pay extra and get one from Best Buy. So insert MiniLed!! The 43 seems cheaper then both OLED options and zero burn in risk. So if the blacks are good and pc performance is good, this TV is a huge winner.

An actual monitor lets you do you normal stuff at 60hz then when your in game you can select what ever it supports and it goes to it, (like 120hz). The way we are doing it here is either 60hz or 120hz.. all the time for everything. Right now I have to select the options he shows to get 120hz in a game then when I am done, I reset everything to go back to 60hz.

Have a few questions if you don't mind, with Q90A, driver level upscaling like NIS basically doesn't work (well it works but it doesn't recognise your 3840 x 2160 as native resolution, so it upscaled the game to 4086 x 2160 instead, everything looks super blurry and also come with black bar), is it still an issue with this model? Also what size are you using? rting mentioned that only 43 inch and 50 inch model have 144hz, is that true? Because they also mentioned that those two also don't have wild viewing angle layer and have a poorer glossy coating that don't handle reflection just as well, are any of these an issue if you are using either of these models?
@Wilayaat

It is correct that only 43" & 50" have 144Hz and the viewing angles aren't as wide as the bigger sets. Not 100% sure about the glossy coating but I believe they are the same on all sizes? Can't answer the first part of your question, hopefully someone else can!

Given this TV Panel has a BGR sub-pixel layout, without the addition of 4:4:4: Chroma to lessen the blurryness inherent in BGR panels the text will be very blurry in windows even at 150% or more zoom. My question is does this tv have the required 41mbps hdmi 2.1 bandwidth for 4:4:4: Chroma at its native 4K, 120hz w/10-bit color? I am assuming there is enough bandwith at 60hz (half or 20mbps) Somewhere in one of the manuals that should have shipped with the TV should state this. I have been unable to find one online. Thank you. PS: without this ability, it doesn't make any sense to pay 1200 Bucks for a TV to use as a monitor when you can buy a 60hz tv at half the price.

Do you have a source on the BGR sub pixel layout? Not doubting you - haven’t been able to find any details of whether it’s BGR or RGB

In NVIDIA Control appearance me: "Ultra HD, HD, SD" 4k × 2k 4096×2160 or 4k x 2k 3840×2160 (Native) both of them I only can use 60 hz But in "PC" option the only resolution that I can choose is 3840×1600 an I can't use 144hz I would preciate if anybody could help me. I see in the game bar that your "input lag" option is greyed out (set to 'fastest') and that the 'game motion plus' is also greyed out (in the menu when you activate 'game mode' ). I recently bought a qn90b and have the same problem when i use the 'pc mode'. Did you find a way to activate 'game motion plus' in pc mode? I read in some forums that "game motion plus" is automaticaly greyed out when "input lag" is set to "fastest", so i guess one has first to know how to get 'input lag' option available (not greyed out').

Can someone please let me know if for example I connected a 1080p Win10 laptop with a "standard" gfx card would the resultant output look good enough for productivity? @@FG-td4vs I have received it & from my first impressions its nice. Yet I'm at my wits end trying to figure out why this isn't showing/allowing 120 Hz/(144 in PC mode) as Samsung's 43" claims to have. I'm stuck @ 60 with a 3080ti, 48Gbps 2.1 cable. I have not yet hooked up my Ps5 to see how that goes. If you recall Samsung's QN90A 43 was said to have 120hz which it does not, (50" & up did) hope this isn't the case with the B?

@@okie7812 The 43 should have 144hz, both 43 and 50 have 144hz and the rest have 120hz. Only thing I can think off is are you selecting the resolutions from the bottom list like in the video? And now hdmi 2.1 is also hdmi 2.0 confusing ino. I guess make sure it’s 2.1 48. If everything fails I’d try a different cable, hdmi can be a pain in the ass, had similar issues with my lg c1 and it was the cable, despite being advertised as hdmi 2.1 120hz 4k

Are you not able to create custom resolutions on it? I have a Q70R connected to a 4090 and it lets me create whatever custom resolutions I want. That TV has HDMI 2.0. However, I tried connecting the same PC to a TCL and it would not allow me to create custom resolutions through the HDMI 2.1 ports, it only allowed me to do it through the HDMI 2.0 connection. It appears the create custom resolution option is grayed out on your QN90B as well. It's bizarre because I've always been able to create custom resolutions on every other TV I've used in the last 6 years, but the HDMI 2.1 ports of the TCL would not allow it. It appears the Samsung is the same.

Just bought this and had to return it, I've got faint lines almost like banding visible either side of the screen but not the middle, they are all the same thickness and spaced out equally, they go top to bottom and across, also the same thickness and spacing on the horizontal lines but yet again the middle of the screen isn't effected just the sides, they pertrude about 4-5 inches across, do you have this on yours ? I can see it extremely well when looking at the sky in games or when viewing similar scenes in movies, it's not like Banding when it appears in Dark / Grey scenes, I'm scared to buy another as the Refund process is complicated and not always guaranteed if the store can't see the fault, it took 4 members of staff to look at mine before I got a refund, 2 could see it 2 couldn't... Thanks
