Bought this lens a couple of weeks back and have used it for a few photoshoots. This is the only lens that you need for an event -birthday, wedding, etc. And for a portrait photoshoot, this is absolutely pure bang for the buck. Only issue that I feel is, it is quite heavy and has a lot of lens creep, so not the most versatile for flat-lay photos. Used it with A7iv and the quality is banging. Got it for around USD 1000

have you tried fixing the lens creep with a small piece of duct tape? heard it does wonders

Hi please advise is it necessary to buy sony 50mm f1.8 if I have Tamron 35-150 for my sony alpha7 IV

As a wildlife photo hobbyist, my primary lens is a Sigma 150-600 weighing on at 2.8kg. So when I started researching this lens as an “everything else” option, I just have to chuckle when reviewers mention the weight. It’s all relative! Maybe someday I’ll get one of those light wide-angle 1.8 primes. For now, I’m loving the Samyang 35-150 and don’t mind carrying it one bit.

I personally would exchange that higher end focal length to a lower. a 24-120 f2.0/2.8 would be the ultimate, perfect, never ever you need to swap lense.

Inspiring video I love the shots during the "auto focus" part of the video. What focal length were most of those shots taken at? Seems like the longer end to me. Also would you recommend this lens for those who do professional work on the side/less often? If I can go lighter and use 2 lenses would that make sense as I'm not shooting every day?

The video is very good, after watching several videos about Tamron and Samyang I bought the Samyang here in the USA for 1000 dollars, I've been using it on my Sony A7iv for 3 days and I'm really enjoying it, the image from this lens compares to my Sony 35mm 1.4 GM, the autofocus is also very fast, the quality of the material is good in my opinion and the lens is really heavy, but so is the Tamron, so far I'm satisfied because I bought it for half the price of the Tamron.

Ty sir sa pag-confirm. I'm sure di naman layo perf nyan sa tamron version, yun lens creeping lang talaga medyo bothered ako haha. Pero ok rin siguro since mas mura ng $600 kesa sa isa.

or you can get the sony 70-350 g which is better priced and overall better than any samyang lens
@musicmaestro88
Жыл бұрын
The 70-350G is certainly not better than "any" Samyang lens. Furthermore... 150mm @ f/6.3 is trash compared to 150mm @ f/2.8 on the Samyang. The Samyang is actually f/2.0 @ 35mm and the short end of the Sony is 70mm - not a standard focal length at all. Samyang covers 35 and 50mm... 2 standard focal lengths that the Sony can't. I mean who doesn't have fast 35 and 50mm primes? That G lens is beasting - I often regret selling it. But that lens shouldn't really be compared to the Samyang. @freshouttafocus
