Thx happy to try and help 👍 I do the underside but not so much in this Dock 👌 I cannot recommend a bast pot as I don't get paid too yet 😏 haha no my thorts on this are pick any pot that you personally can get a good deal on they all perform very similar I use clemco as its less than 15mins from my base if I need any parts. I couldn't recommend another over another without extensive use of each.

@@mikes3942 I’m rather familiar with blocking and stands (and moving them for prep/paint) when a boat is hauled with a travelift or even a marine railway. Not so much when it’s sitting on timbers barely off the dry dock floor.

Gidday what caused the epoxy to not adhere, usually if the surface is properly cleaned there should be no flaking.
@Mobileblaster
3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think the reason for this fail was it got painted over the blacking bitumen isn't a good prep serface to paint over
@mikes3942

Bitumen remains a fairly flexible coating whereas Epoxy goes ridgid. Over time the Epoxy will just peel off as Mick says. Bitumen repaint over Bitumen works better if you are doing it on the cheap. Epoxy will last longer over a lovely sand blasted surface
@Mobileblaster
3 жыл бұрын
@@mikes3942 Yeah its worth spending that bit more on epoxy once its been blasted as bitumen life span is 3/4 year? and epoxy on with a good key is 7/10 year? I would imagine when they put estimated life span on it would be test conditions not trapping up and down a canal with old bike frames and shopping trollies lurking under just waiting to knock chunks out of the surface. personally I would say they both have good pros and equally both have down sides i would pick bitumen not from a boating prospective but as a repair paint for a novice to easily go over on the next docking cycle but epoxy has the chance it won't need going over so all personal choice.

love to see what a laser removal tool could do on these much less mess.
@Mobileblaster

Much less mess much less work 😂 the ones I've seen only remover very lite tea staining. In the industry that's the easiest stuff to remove. The speed at what they work at it wouldn't be cost-effective if they could do the job to start with then the next problem the cost of the unit its self and then how to power it as I don't fink they would run on a 13amp 3 pin plug. I've also thort the same idea 😂 and run into these as a valid reason not to invest in one 👍
