An original composition and performance by myself!
This is a fun one. Dancing is one of the activities that makes me feel like myself. That makes me feel free. I was inspired by the club music that I hear when I go out to clubs in Texas to write this one. Specifically Reggaeton and Hip-Hop - both of which are styles developed within Black communities. (Reggaeton was inspired by reggae and dancehall from Jamaica and then developed by Puerto Ricans and Dominicans. It is called Sango’s bop because Sango is the orisha (West African Spirit) of dance, drumming, and thunder. In this piece, you will see and hear me use my bow as percussive instrument to make a beat. This specific beat is called dem-bow (lol I just realized bow is conveniently in that word) and is used as the foundation for almost every reggaeton song. Towards the middle switch it up to more of a hip-hop like beat.
