The Indian government's approval of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for IT hardware has been welcomed by 27 electronic manufacturers, with the potential for a 3,000 crore rupees investment. Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that 95% of these companies are ready to commence manufacturing, creating about 2 lakh employment opportunities. The move aims to boost electronic manufacturing in India. Sanjay Lodha, Chairman and Managing Director of Netweb Technologies, expressed optimism, citing PLI 2.0 as a practical step with increased incentives. His company, already involved in server manufacturing, anticipates early production with the accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence.
