This is the evidence, that "amplifyer - sound" exists. The differences between the three models are much smaller than the differences of different speakers would be, but they are clear noticable in direct comparism. Thank you for this video and your other interesting videos.

in real the differences are even bigger, my microphone have lots of sound loss. when I would place a normal(not cheap) amp between these 3 top amps , the difference would even be bigger.

Hey Andrew. What would be a fair current price for a G7000 now both in restored condition and not restored condition? I saw one unrestored on eBay for just under $900. That seems high considering it would probably cost $400-500 in labor to refresh it.

Did a similar A/B testing between my Sansui 771, Pioneer SX737 and Marantz 2226.. Sansui's clarity tops the other two. Pioneer have more sweet mids and Marantz balance combination between the two. I prefer Sansui's tone, but they all sound great!
The Yamaha is beautifully designed and worked well here. Since this isn't a studio environment I think the Sansui really shined with this setup and your recording set up. With the set up you have it had a nice warmth with all your musical selections. I think this was a good comparison overall.

Question about the Yamaha... during this test did you turn the loudness control to off? On Yamaha receivers the loudness control is a knob that works in reverse. When turned to the right the loudness is off and vice versa. When loudness is turned on (to the left) it has the effect of sucking out the midrange and that is pretty much what this Yamaha sounds like here.

Hello everyone, I have a Marantz 4300, but strangely enough, at the back of my unit, it does not say "DESIGNED IN U.S.A. PRODUCED IN JAPAN" like every other 4300. Can anyone explain what is the difference?

If your hearing is good you will notice that the Sansui sounds more detailed and yet very warm sound . Great mids and highs and punchy lows . The Marantz is also warm but not as dynamic sounding as the Sansui . It does not put the instruments out there as clearly as the Sansui did. The Yamaha sound is as nuetral as can be but somewhat lackluster . It would be great for falling asleep to, but only if you had a timer hooked up to shut it off after it put you to sleep .

I had a funny feeling the Sansui would come out on top and sadly the Yamaha on the bottom. Back in the day when you could audition stereo equipment in brick and mortar stores, I was always disappointed with Yamaha's looks and sound. They always sounded muddy in the mids and highs and lacked punch in the bass. Marantz was far more lively in the mids and highs, but always lacked in the bass. Also I never liked that horizontal tuning knob, but granted that is more a looks thing than sound. Sansui was always a favorite with perhaps only Pioneer challenging it, although I admit I have never pitted a Kenwood against a Sansui. Even though I did have a Kenwood 5700, it was FAR under powered when compared to the Sansui I had. The G series Sansui's had the best looks as well with their big tuning dials and huge knobs. I am not much the vintage amp connoisseur I used to be, but I made sure I held on to my Sansui G-7000.

On the tests presented in this video I am hearing a brighter sound with more presence on the Marantz, and the Sansui is fairly close in sound characteristics. The Yamaha's sound is not as present and engaging, and is not as effective reproducing the treble. My preference based on the way the receivers are presented is for the sound of the Marantz overall. It is a much closer contest with respect to the classical pieces where I feel the Sansui is very close. Perhaps it might be better to put the Sansui and Marantz together for a shootout as those are the two best here. It could be a different impression hearing these three receivers in person though.

I have a pristine rotel 1312 and a 5 out of ten cosmetically 1412. it had some issues but I got them both on a single sale, anyway I see no reason to keep them both except that I want to but dont have the room. the guy is asking 850 for it and it is about a 6 out of ten with all the internals done, recapped and whatnot. is one of those rotels a fair trade for it ? Marantz look like beuties, and theres alot of hype about thjem so im pretty interested in it, and I dont have a marantz on my shelf yet. Ive heard ones from the 80s I wasnt impresed with. thats about it. anyways Opinions please ? is that a fair trade ?

In this online listening comparison (which I know isn’t ideal), my ranking and impressions are: #1 Sansui being overall my favourite (and this is speaking as a vintage Marantz fan). Rich and warm sound, but on the limit of being too bright to my ears. #2 Marantz has the clearest mids, but lacks in the bass where it comes last. Nonetheless a close 2nd place overall after the Sansui. #3 Yamaha has a broad imaging, but appears a bit fuzzy overall and kind of compressed dynamically.

The sound signal is so far from what you are hearing its a mute point. Why don't you say..."I'm listening to these different rigs and this is what I thought, because you are not here and will never be able to tell" Also the recording device is in different locations thats what the knuckleheads are hearing when they make comments about what rig is better!
