You might want to look into sealing the walls and floors in the basement with a concrete sealer (DryLok). Also cover any exposed dirt areas, if there are any, with a thick plastic barrier that is sealed to the walls. Also make the sump pump pit covered and sealed. The sump pump pit might be a point where radon is coming in under the slab. I'm sure sealing all the walls and floors would cut the amount of moisture coming in. It would also probably help with the radon.

Definitely check your Radon level; jTemp makes a good point. Radon is no joke, 2nd leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers. Lung cancer has a 17% five year survival rate once detected and checking for radon is under $50!

Thank you for the thorough review. I just ordered a New unit and was looking for setup advice on the Santa Fe dehumidifier. Too bad a new unit needed you to replace parts so soon. So how has the unit worked for you since you bought the unit? Still meeting your expectations? Are the replacement filters easy to find? You mentioned your Electric company has “time of use” pricing. How are you controlling that? Would be nice if the App had a “Timer” function. How reliable has the WiFi connection been? Many on the web have complained that the WiFi connection tends to disconnect often. Thank you again.

There is no problem with the Wifi connection, very reliable on my Advancd100, you just need to make sure your basement wifi signal is good, if not, add mesh-wifi routers to boost the signal. It's a pretty standard filter size and can probably be bought from many home improvement stores or online, the filter is very easy to replace. As for a timer function, I actually emailed their app-developing team and they said they had no plan of implementing that, and because the Advance 100 can resume running when power is restored, they suggested to just get a timer for the machine if I don't want it to be set up to run continuously. Then I found out my electric company doesn't implement time of use pricing and it was available for some other regions... I do however need to keep the dehumidifier running 24/7 because my basement has quite a lot of exposed dirt and the humidity gets out of control with dehumidifier goes off even just for 3 or 4 hours... As for energy efficiency, this dehumidifier is NOT ENERGY STAR rated and I kinda wish I had bought the Aprilaire - 1870 which is indeed energy star rated... www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-dehumidifiers/details/2361241 If I had to choose, I may go with Advance90 which is much cheaper and simpler to run 24/7, or the Aprilaire which costs the same but is much more efficient. But since this dehumidifier is supposed to be lasting me at least 5-6 years, I'll just worry about making the new purchasing decision then.

1+ years running 24/7, no issues after the initial humidity sensor problem and kept my very humid basement bone dry, even after the big tropical storm pass by

Now that you have your heat pump water heater, this should be for sale.

Not really, heat pump water heater barely makes enough condensation to be pumped out of garage, this thing is the bread and butter of garagej pumping out liters and liters of liquid!
