One of the finest and most beautiful songs ever. Carlos shined on this studio version. He shined on everything but this is a special song.

Went to San Francisco 75 saw B.B.King at the Winterland and he introduced Carlos as a guest. After long wait at stage door I was lucky to meet him and he signed my British passport. Love his playing.

Santana's first album and this one are noted for their transitions from one song to the next and the flow is SO artistic and flowing. The entire album should be listened to complete with no breaks. If you do that you will hear what I mean. Brilliant.

First album changed my life! I was 11 in 1970 and my older brother bought the eight track, turned on his black light and pop it in…..and from the first note, from the first song from the first lp….I was hooked! Nothing compares to that first lp!!!!

He said he knows a few songs from Carlos. This is his signature since, I think 1970. Nr. 2 for me " Black magic woman" ! I can't remember more songs in the moment. There's been a song with Blondie aka Debbie Harry. One of the most melodious guitarist in the world. Latin blood!!! 👍🫡❤️ Love Carlos since my birth in '72. Papa played this to get me calm as a baby. In Austria btw.!

Thank you for taking the time to reply back. Means a lot to me. Yes, magical is an apt description. I find it spiritual also. Reaches down into my soul and finds that good spot and fills me with goodness and mercy. Like the sound of Karen Carpenters voice. Brings tears to my eyes. He puts so much emotion into his work. Please listen to "Europa" on his "Moonflower" album. A good example. Whole album is wonderful. Again, thank you. Bless you. Have a super Sunday and good luck with your show!

my all time fave percussion section. and this is his 2 nd group, the Woodstock era. Seems Carlos changes sections every few years.... there's a uTube video this group in concert , an hour + of pretty high video & audio Quality. Tanglewood. (Boston ) is it 1970 ? they also got a recording of a fine near unknown SF band, Beautiful day. their song 'White Bird' is a real classic.

Fabulous guitar player, and a great live band, it doesn't get a whole lot better than this. There's a John Lee Hooker track called, The Healer that has Carlos playing guitar, it's pretty good, though it sounds like it's the other way round and it's a Santana track JLH sings on. There's also a short set on You Tube of John Lee Hooker, Carlos Santana and Etta James playing live together that's phenomenal. Highly recommended!

In the 60s in London we looked at EVERYTHING - rock, blues, jazz, folk, the crooners like Sinatra, classical and on and on. It was because we were inquisitive. Today, they listen to what they are fed and it is a very poor diet of the most simplistic, uninspired, repetitive “music” you can imagine. No one in the 60s would have bought that stuff. Just look at the feature films produced today - everyone would have walked out of the cinema in the past. Also.the level of general ignorance is astonishing. They know little about history etc, and so many can hardly hold a conversation. The language of Shakespeare has been reduced to that of a Neanderthal. It is very sad, and worrying for the future.

When I was young (many, many years ago) lol Just about everyone bought vinyl albums...not singles. And of course, there was no spotify or any of the other ways folks liisten to songs today. That's the reason you haven't heard so much of the older artist's catalogs...not your fault, really. Just a different way people consue music today. (Of course I prefer the old way...listen to entire albums) 🙂

We're middle aged ourselves. I had a singles collection in the 80's, when I DJ'd, along with a crate full of LP's. CD's, then mp3's, changed the landscape while I was still collecting music. In effect, killing my need, as a DJ, to collect full albums. Shame. I could have learned so much.

@@hanierfamily Right, I am so old I forgot about the mp3 era. That definitely killed the idea of people listening to whole albums. To this day, most of my favorites are "album tracks". Hits are rarely my favorites...partly because of over exposure. Good luck w/the youtube channel.
