Fascinating history! The beginning of the wrist watch and flying planes!!! The bottle looks like a strangely elegant non-American gun from 1900. The lemon verbena sounds grand. Well done interview Lanier! Now I need to test it. ASAP! Keep up the exciting nose work. Fantastic French 75. Love it Maestro as always!!!

Lanier I pulled this out today and you guess what. I fell in love all over again. I must say it is the best fragrance that I own! I think young people will have to wait to smell it after the first 15 minutes or so. Then on my god 5 hours laters it is supremely wonderful!! I was getting something I had never noticed before in the eighties. I can see how this was top quality in its early days. It puts many of these newer sports frags to shame. A lovely review.

Bois du [me in] Portugal sounds more like the kind of romance one would see on a late-night episode of Cinemax. LOL! But seriously, I think you'll really enjoy Bois du Portugal...makes me feel like putting on a spiffy hat and listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin every time I wear it. :) I just returned form an evening of dancing and OMG! those ladies are aggressive. I liked your review very much, however the directions you gave for the amount of gin in the French 75, three parts, are meaningless if you don't provide the parts of the other ingredients. So how much gin would that be, 1 oz, 2 oz, 25 oz?

For a second I thought you meant "summer" diamonds as opposed to winter diamonds, and I concluded that summer diamonds were several carats lighter so as not to be so heavy in the warm months. You might answer this-- is it a faux pas to wear white gold after Labor Day? I hope not as I have a 24 carat white gold suit of armor that I want to wear to a friends wedding. No one will say I'm not the "best man" this time! You haven't lived till you've seen a guy doing the foxtrot in a suit of plate armor!

What a wonderful sounding cocktail Lanier!!! You know, I used to where Santos almost exclusively back in the early 90's. I recently (within the last year) thought to purchase another bottle as I know longer had it in my collection. What a disappointment...not even close to what I remembered. Im guessing its been reformed since then...what a shame. I'll still wear it but the older version was sooooooo good compared to this new version.

I agree with everything about the EDT BUT the longevity, I do not think it lasts more than a couple hours and I am talking about the concentree version even that is suppose to last longer I had 2 bottles and they just don't tend to last more than a couple hours. It says it is made in France on the box and the bottle unless there is a secret about the one you have that we don't know....
