At first i wasn’t going to listen because i thought she put a child into a suitcase and recorded them dying and i just couldn’t handle it. but his pleas seem like he is begging for her to come to her senses. there must be some very abusive or manipulative behavior between these two for him to have been willing to get into that thing to begin with.

Oh yeh, please stick with this case. She is some strange character. Even if you believe her that she had meant to let him out but fell asleep, she's so bizarrely unashamed for having put him in a suitcase. She filmed herself in her own WORST hour. Awful listening to him call out her name from inside the suitcase. Good points, it the police had been more patient, really dug into why she put him in a suitcase and where and so on... When I saw the first body cam footage, I thought this was a case about alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. But SB seems to have something seriously wrong with her, even sobered up. I also wonder about her new prison look. Is she trying to make romantic relationships with other inmates in order to manipulate them?

one of my 1st thoughts was brain damage from chronic alcoholism, plus a pre-existing personality disorder. But she's more than just narcissistic. Not to excuse her, but I think a comprehensive neuro-psych eval would reveal some kind of impairment.

As far as I know there is no corroborating evidence that Sarah went upstairs and went to bed. I wish the detectives had had the presence of mind to ask uncomfortable questions along the lines of, "What was Jorge's reaction to knowing you had gone upstairs and had left him alone in the living room?" And/or, "From the apartment layout we see the suitcase is positioned but a few feet from the staircase. So when he heard you make your way upstairs -- did Jorge call out in panic for you to come back?" Or, "Could you hear Jorge begging to be let out when you were laying in bed?" Neither of the two next door roommates (one of whom had heard heated arguing earlier in evening) reported hearing any loud voices after the wall-shaking thudding down the stairs. And indeed in the video, while clearly panicking, Jorge is not hollering. But, is the reason the neighbors never heard any desperate cries or screams for help because Sarah was seated nearby taunting him till he took his last dying breath? Everyone (or so it seems) accepts as a given that Sarah is telling the truth about going upstairs and falling asleep. But, I for one have doubts.

@@pdquestions7673 Then too, as we learn from the follow-up interview of Brian Boone, Sarah called Brian at 11:46 pm. If memory serves, with the first suitcase video timestamped @ 11:12 pm, and the second, shorter video taken some 11 minutes later -- that means Sarah called her ex some 20 or so minutes after videoing Jorge. Granted, from where in the apartment she placed the call, we don't know.

Interesting video. I agree with what you said about the Detectives technique, or lack thereof, and their lack of charging strategy. Due to the video being such a detrimental piece of evidence, and the Detective's strong personal dislike of Sarah, it seemed as though they didn't even try for a confession. Sarah's neighbour told Detectives that he heard the suitcase bouncing down the stairs around 10:30 PM. The videos were both taken at, or shortly before 11:15 PM. That means when the video was taken, Jorge had already been in that suitcase for around 45 minutes. Would that not be torture? Jorge was confined to a suitcase, thrown him down the stairs, and then terrorized for 45 minutes. The autopsy stated the scratches on Jorge’s back were recent, so they either had sex that evening, or they had sex in the 12 hours before that. It seemed as though Sarah harboured some anger towards Jorge because he would choke her during sex. Jorge's brother spoke with him earlier that evening and heard Sarah say, "Did you tell your brother that you've been choking me?" And, judging from her own words during the infamous suitcase video, “this is what it feels like when you choke me”, she at least had the choking incident on her mind when the murder occurred. Sarah also told Detectives that Jorge and her hadn’t had any physical altercations since one month before, when he previously hit her with a curtain rod. When Detectives spoke with Jorge’s maintenance man/friend, he said that 2 days before the suitcase incident, he witnessed Jorge drag her down the front steps by her hair. It was interesting that she didn't mention this to Detectives.

I agree about the mutual abuse. As for her representation, it's normal to have difficult clients. I'm honestly disappointed that all these appointed defenders aren't taking the opportunity to profit from public appearances, being associated with such a high profile case. I think there are ways SB could be defended. In the end, she's unlikely to be acquitted, but they can still give her a vigorous defense & make her feel supported. I know it sounds wrong to want to support such an unlikeable person, but - in all honesty - there are lots of unlikeable defendants in this world, and it's not the end of the world to offer her a vigorous defense.

You would probably be really good at the 'interviewing with an agenda' strategy. I'm too impatient. But you seem like you have never been impatient before in your life, like you would suffer fools most kindly. But I wonder if that would not be a bad trait in a defense attorney. With that kind of aura, they might all confess, and if they just flat out confessed, don't you have to call the prosecutor and let them know? But what I came here to ask is, did you listen to the 911 call? It was rather grotesque, that audible exhalation of air from his stiffened corpse. I don't know what was wrong with that 911 operator. The m'fr was stiff, cold, gray--I have never heard any other dispatcher do something like that, keep insisting on CPR in an obviously futile situation. I had mild flashbacks in the following days--that trapped air finally finding its way out, right into her face--so I can imagine that might have affected her. In fact, if she hadn't murdered him, if it had been a more typical 911 call without murderers, and that had happened? I would have told her to sue for mental distress. Or at least threaten to. I'd like to see HIM do CPR on a stiffened corpse that's My little sister once had a close friend who worked for the FBI doing something that involved her having to sit in rooms with corpses while writing reports. And my sister said that every now and then, while her friend was sitting there writing, she would hear the sound of air escaping the corpse. And it would sound different from corpse to corpse. Sometimes it would even sound like an angry sigh, or a long sad one. She probably doesn't even remember telling me that, but it never left me.
